At what point do the F/W scarves start to disappear from the stores? I'm obsessed (OBSESSED) with L'instruction du Roy, and very upsettingly didn't receive it for my recent birthday or for the holidays. We're headed to Boston this weekend and I'm hoping to get lucky there. If they don't have it, will they still be getting in stock or do they now start to get in S/S13? I know it just showed up on H.com, but I'm hoping to pull the "oh honey, look what they have here, I must get it now while we're here" trick on the DH on Saturday . . .
I'm sure you can still find it. If the Boston store does not have it, you can have your SA at your local store do a system search and charge-send for you, in any colorway you want, as long as another store in the country has it. I was still able to find a sought-after Fall 2011 scarf last Thanksgiving, for example.
You can always give the Boston boutique a call in advance, I think they are more open to stock question in regard to a specific silk scarf (not like leather stuff).
I find it impossible to answer the question of when a store would stop receiving FW stock as Paris sometimes releases silk stock randomly :sweatdrop:.

Thanks! I know I bought my Tresors Retrouvee back in April and I still see plenty of them in the cases. I'll stop panicking, but still be hopeful the DH says ok . . . : )

Thank you, etoile de mer. I believe that it's a very old dye process that is new to H scarves. But don't quote me, I just got them because they are all blue! They feel like the vintage 70's, fairly matte and very soft. Exactly like an older Couvertures pointu in vintage silk:

Wow, that pointu is so pretty. How did I miss that? I've only seen the Couvertures pointu in maxi jersey.

Thank you Chesnutty for sleuthing this cws out!

I live in a climate with hot summers. Am trying to think how I would use/manage with these summer twills, lovely as they are. Can someone provide suggestions on how they use these summer twills?

Let me see if I can help out a little, eagle1002us and lady786. My DD and I are big fans of the summer silk GMs. Basically we wear them just like a cashmere GM but they are much much lighter! A mousseline GM weighs 55 grams, a silk 90 weighs 76 grams and the summer silk GM is only 77 grams. A newer cashmere GM is 186 grams. I have hand washed them with ease.

DD lives in NYC with very steamy summers and visits us in Florida in the winters. I only happen to have pics of her wearing lightweight leather jackets with the silk GMs but underneath she has tank tops on, as do I in the leather jacket shot. The shawl in mine is actually a mousseline but the idea is to drape most of the shawl in front so that only the smallest part of the triangle is against your neck.

The cowboy drape is great inside, when you run into chilly air conditioning. The silks also add some color when folded lengthwise. You can use them on top of a shirt or jacket so the collar keeps the silk off your skin, or with something sleeveless. Sorry that I can't find more pics of us in really hot weather! DD has also used hers as a halter top, and as a pareo over a swim suit. Oh, and as a little billowy jacket - you lay the shawl out as a square, tie two corners together on each side and slip your arms through the tied 'armholes'.

I think this is a fall 2012 scarf. I'm not entirely sure. Geometrie Cretoise in 90 cm. I'm loving my new mors scarf ring.

MYH Just lovely ! I too love my permabrass Mors ring and seeing this makes me resolve to take it from its box and leave it out so that I'll remember to use it often . I haven't tried it in this way with a 90 ,I assumed they would be too bulky but this looks great. I love it with 70s and twillies.
I need to see which of my 90s will work best , graphic G. Cretoise looks excellent.

There are some out there, but they are few and far in between. Most SAs if you call about it, will chuckle and tell you no.

I scored mine though a few weeks ago just by good luck. I inquired about it in store, and it happened that they had exactly one that had been held for a long-time customer who never came to pick it up. Honestly, though, I feel like if I called, the answer would have been a resounding "no" (something I'm used to hearing from hermes by now ).

Many thanks, Pierina2, for these suggestions. Your daughter is lovely and you both wear your scarves like they are made for you.

We have hot summers here. I can even get warm wearing a mous. I will mull over your suggestions.
