Two looks - same scarf! I almost passed on this scarf when I saw it on france.hermes.com and thought "meh, too bright", but once tied it made a huge difference. The colors on the diagonal and hem are actually quite creamy, soft, and wearable. Somehow reminded me of some colorways of the Coup de Fouet :smile1:. It really is something unique in my collection.

P/S: I'm pretty sensitive, so if you see this post and think my scarf is too bright/too flat/too boring, etc. please feel free to move on and ignore my post. I love my scarves and it's hurtful to hear negative comments about the design or colorway that I chose. Thank you :smile1:.

Gorgeous I can't tell it's the same scarf...:love::love:

That's so cool -- love how you tied it to show the difference! Which scarf is this, and color ways?

I love this pic!! I was just looking earlier on h.com the galop chromatiques but didn't see this cw. Love that it can look like two completely different scarves! :)

Hi kittyHawk, thanks! I am blown away with this colourway because it is neutral base but the sparkles actually pops! It is not that dull as a neutral. I would say it works as both neutral/subtle and pop. Hard to explain as it can work both ways depending on your clothings. I would wear it with bright colour clothings like red, electrique blue, emerald green, orange etc. But it can also be worn together with black and navy and prune/burgundy type of colour but won't be dull at all.

Dear Mia, thanks so much for this explanation! I love the idea of something neutral and classy with a little pizzazz and sparkles - I will try to hunt this one down. I also *NEED* the black and white Casques et Plumets that so many beautiful ladies have modelled here and on the SOTD thread - so amahhhhzing!! Thanks for enabling! :smile1:

I'm a bit confused. What did you mean by standard weights of scarves? My own carres' weights are all over the places, from mid 60 to mid 70 :smile1:.

the average weight of a 90 would be approximately 65 grams - this could vary, i have some scarves that are very soft and have a thin feel then for example, i have a new one that i rec'd from AU that feels heavy, crisp and stiff....

why would they vary? my guess would be that they are hand sewn so perhaps more thread could be used by one person vs. another, a glaze is put on the scarves, so perhaps one batch gets more glaze depending upon how each artisan works (this is why H says to never wash them yourself), the silk could change slightly but i know nothing about about moths + cocoons.....these are all just guesses....perhaps miskat + suferchick (hope i spelled correct) would know for sure over in the auth thread.....

little tidbit - all of the silk scarves are "born" in brazil, H has a farm there where the silk is harvested, it is then brought to france to be designed, colored and hand sewn......

Wow, this is the same scarf?!?
You look gorgeous, and what fun it must be to change your look so effortlessly!

It's the Galop Chromatique in cw17 :smile1:. I think it's pretty unique, and thus a keeper for me.

jp_536, textilegirl, palmbeachpink, Monceau: Thank you for the compliment.

NestGirl - Is that cw5? Wow! Looks so different than on the website!. I think with this design, one must definitely try it on before quickly passing it.

Absolutely beautiful, Chestnutty. Last week, I bought GAlop Chromatique in the purple, ciel, beige color and am smitten with the design. The left picture is particularly gorgeous and I adore the soft pink and red on you.
I love the purple/ciel/beige (cw3?) as well and had been debating between the two cws (but my wallet allowed me only one scarf). Can you show us a mod pic of it? I think it's a beautiful neutral cw.

Beautiful colour Chestnutty! It works so well with your white shirt! Congrats!

NestGirl! Lovely scarf! I think we might have the same colourway. :) This Galop Chromatique is just so worth it because you have 2 colour palettes in 1 scarf! Enjoy in good health!

Yes, it is c/w 03. I will try to do a modeling picture this weekend. At my store, there were only two color ways, 03 and the green one. I think this is a fab design and LOVE your color!:smile1:
