I throw my ZCP and cell phone and essentials in it on the weekends almost all the time for running errands, target shopping, movies, etc. The chain is just the right length to throw on my shoulder over coats. It's actually one of my most used bags. Mine is in monogram though. Maybe you're afraid of getting the DA dirty?I love my DA Eva, but in sooo many years I've used it just twice (both were semi-formal occasions).Anyone else with the same bag, how often do you use it. what do you put in it, and do you find it useful/practical? Don't you use the vachetta strap? I find the chain too short and use it just as a hanging accessory/wristlet and the few times I have worn it it has been with the vachetta strap hanging from my shoulder - which does happen to put it directly in contact with my black jeans/trousers.
I also tend to carry hand sanitiser and hand cream with me everywhere, which are essentials along with a lip balm, powder compact, iPhone (the plus model), a small wallet - at the bare minimum. These things do fit in my Eva, but I don't particularly like having to strategically take objects out slowly like a game of Jenga to prevent things falling out. I also think I resent the lack of freedom, I can't really throw in my bottle of water or food or extra miscellaneous objects as I head out the door.
Perhaps I will keep it as a special occasion clutch only haha, for summer. It doesn't see much use as a clutch since I purchased D&G and Mulberry ones.

I honestly think my Eva is my most used LV. I have the mono version though so no worry of color transfer. I usually put my keys/key pouch with cash/cards, phone, and a lip gloss. Occasionally I’ll put a compact wallet in. I almost always carry with the leather strap crossbody.
She’s gone on vacations all over... Tucked into carryons, concerts, sporting events, girls nights, date nights, weekend errands/shopping, the dog park... less formal weddings (this is when I used the chain strap only). Only place I don’t bring her is to work!
I love my Evas! I use them for concerts and festivals or just when I want to be hands-free. I usually use the long strap but occasionally I’ll just use the gold chain. I also bought longer gold chains from eBay that match perfectly. I can fit my iPhone, Zcp and a long slim makeup pouch inside. The one thing that bothers me is that I can’t fit my sunnies. I wear those on my head!
I use my Eva mostly for boating. I can hang the chain on a cupholder so my phone is accessible for taking pictures. Also on cruises, that's all I use. It's so easy and light and I can toss it into a tote for the beach. I guess it's my nautical bag. 
So thanks to everyone in this thread, I've been inspired by your replies and have been scrolling through pictures. So I took mine out and was just packing it buuuuut... the front plate is rusty! How can I clean it? It's around each of the four screws on the edge and looks like tarnish. I've had bad experiences with LV hardware plating wearing off (which I didn't cause) so I am a bit concerned.
Any ideas guys?

I think they stopped selling the monogram eva in January of 2017 and I think at that time it sold in the US for $750 (not totally sure about the price). In Dec 2016 I was lucky to get one in excellent condition from Fashiophile without the long strap (which is too long for me anyway) for $600. Good luck!
Try one of those silver polishing cloths. It used to cost $70 to have LV replace the plate.
