How to silence the Eva

Weaving faux suede leather cord between the links! I used about 36" (91cm) of cord - that'll give you a little excess to play around with.

Unclip the chain, put it inside your clutch, attach your vachetta strap  no more noise when you walk.

It still works if you leave the chain outside like the picture above, it won't be silent but it'll cut noise by ~90%. This works as a bag charm too, imagine it with a fluffy puff or fringe charm. :D Maybe dangle charms between the weaves. Maybe you'll ruin the look of your Eva. :faint: wahaha

Here's what it looks like with the chain on the front.

It's definitely not glam anymore...

It's silent. Yep. That's all that matters. :woohoo:

OP, I think it's super cute! Still glam!! And thanks for the tip. The sound from the chain semi drives me nuts too... Will have to try this! Love your mono! I have a DE Eva and I'm lusting for the mono...

Can't decide if I should keep my de Eva :( it looks so beautiful on everyone, but I never seem to use it. I sold my mono one a while ago for the same reason. Ugh! I was hoping coming to the club would help me decide but I'm even more confused [emoji22]🤔

And as awful as it sounds I feel like I should keep it for my daughter, but she's only 2 1/2! Would she even want it by that point?

OP, if you don't like her, sell her. You paid good money for your bag... If it doesn't serve you well then move on. Don't think about saving it for your daughter. She will develop her own preferences later. In the mean time, you're a mommy and deserve to have a bag or two or five that you like. You still have 16 years to go before she's an adult and can make her own decisions. Enjoy all of yours =]

I saw you had a favorite. If you like that more then sell your Eva because your favorite suits your needs for a small crossbody. It's all preference. You can always get a bag later that your daughter will like when she's older. For now, go with your gut. Use your bag maybe two more times and assess from there! You never know, you'll either like it or sell it to fund a new bag you won't even bother looking back on and enjoying to the fullest.

Hi, is there a way we can shorten the strap of the eva? I'd like to buy one but the strap is too long for me. I have a favorite MM already so id like to buy this beautiful piece.

Maybe your cobbler can do it but I honestly wouldn't ruin my strap just in case you ever decide you want a long strap for another bag that has too short of a strap... Or using this strap for your favorite. The knotted end on the strap of favorite annoys me and poked me when I had a favorite...

But what I would do is go to Mautto.com, it's a website that sells different length straps for bags. Many TPFers say the quality is very good. I'd buy a short strap there and use it for your Eva. I use non LV straps for my mini pochette when I carry as a bag and it's still just as nice =] and kinder on my wallet.

VERY GOOD IDEA, I´m going to copy it.

Yup! I got it out and definitely decided it's time to go. I had all intentions of using it, but picked my twinset over it anyways. Definitely not as in love with it and don't see it being used. I just have to decide if I want to sell with the strap or not....

Thank you dear :smile1:
Sadly, Eva was not available when I visited a LV shop in our country so i bought a favorite PM in DE instead. Anyway, I'll buy the chain strap and will use it to my Favorite as well.

*Hopefully to have an Eva on my next purchase :)

LHO how did you go about buying the strap? I contacted the 1-866 and they told me I had to go into a store and show them my Eva in order to get a replacement part

You can just purchase it at the store. The SA will just check to see if your name is in the computer. If they don't have one, they'll order it for you as a repair piece. I don't own an Eva and didn't have any issues. I just told her I wanted to get a replacement Eva strap.

Hey, I was wondering did you ever take this Eva in to a store? If so what did they say? Have this happening on mine also. Thanks
Hello beautifuls! I have recently come across a slight concern for my beloved eva clutch.. and thought I'd seek for your knowledgeable advice.
I have been using her.. not tons but fairly often..
I am not rough with her but neither I baby her...
I am really not so good at explaining things so I'll insert coupld of pictures of my finding...

Will you please give me some feed back on this whether this is normal wear and tear after about a year... (I am assuming so.. but I'm so bummed cuz I always try to be careful with my bags...)

and if it's something that can be taken into the store? or is it too small of a deal to bring her in yet?

The moment I noticed the splits, that was the last time I took her out from the dustbag... :( lol

I am just so sad cuz she holds very sentimental memory.

Thanks in advance for your help and insights ladies!

xoxo

I went to my closest store since the 1-800 # said to go in person and I asked 2 different SA about it. One wanted me to take in the bag, and the SA that helped me with my $500 purchase said no problem let me order it for you, not needing to take in the bag. So I think if they see you spend money they will not ask you much. I just want he strap to use my pochette as crossbody. It was $120.

Hi. Yes I did inquire about it, and they said it is normal wear ... and they can't repair broken canvas, obviously. and They sort of rest assured me that it won't really get worse from what it is now......
lol I dunno... so I ended up just taking their word.
