I asked for another bag once because the brown squares looked a bit too orange-reddish. The lighter color made it look a bit too busy for me. I like my bags to blend in with my clothes. With that bag, I couldn't see myself wearing a patterned dress, as the bag was already asking too much attention. For a small bag like the Eva or the Favorite, it probably wouldn't bother me though. But for the large bag that I was buying, I wanted a quieter pattern.
If you are unhappy with it and have the option to return it, that may be a good option for you. The good thing is that it is not an LE item, so you would be able to find a replacement fairly easily. Let us know what you decide to do!

Thanks for your advice! It's nice to know that it's normal for some DE canvas to have an orange-reddish. I've tried it and thought about it so much I think I'm actually liking the darker look. It has a muted color compared to the other DE I have. Also, I think it's in a pretty good condition for the price I paid. I'm still waiting to confirm the authenticity of the item and if everything is good I might end up keeping it. It's much harder to part with it than I thought.

Does anyone carry an Eva in one of their larger bags while traveling just in case you want to switch it up for a clutch in the evening? Or to be more to the point, does the Eva fit into larger handbags nicely or is it an awkward fit? TIA!

You are welcome! And to answer your other question, I don't typically put mine in another bag due to the front metal plaque. I don't want it to scratch. If you go with Monogram, then I don't think I would mind as much putting her into another bag.
I have travelled with de Eva inside my de Neverfull mm before for a holiday and it worked well for me.
