The Different Mulberry Leathers: A Guide

This is my first post after joining a couple of weeks ago, so hi to you all!

I have a question on the soft nappa care. I just bought a tangerine Araline (I believe it comes in soft nappa leather) from Ebay, haven't received it yet, but the item description said that it has "a few blackish marks on the pocket". These did not show in the pics although the pocket was in a close-up pic, so I'm hoping that the marks are not too visible.

However, how would you recommend me to try to remove the marks? Should I use some mild detergent, rub them with a cloth + some leather nourisher or what? Also, if someone has the care card for soft nappa, it would be great if you could write the care instructions here so I'll know how to take care of the bag (are you supposed to use Collonil as well like on Darwin etc.?)

I noticed that there are some tangerine Araline owners here in the forum so I'd be very interested to hear how your bag has been holding up after longer use - has the color faded, are there lots of marks etc.?

Thanks a lot!

Hello minahan!! Welcome to the Mulberry forum, bloody nuts on here at times, but you'll love it!! Congrats on your Araline,Sarajane on here has a couple and adores them!! So she,and a few others will be able to help you out with the marks you are a bit concerned about!!

Does anyone know if you care for printed leather in the same way that you care for Congo leather?

I collonil-ed my E/W Bayswater to within an inch of its life, and I'm concerned that I should have used leather cream/nourisher first - any ideas? Should I (and will I be able to) use leather nourisher when the collonil has worn off and needs respraying in a few weeks time?

Thanks for any help!

i have a question regarding the difference between congo, kenya and printed leathers. are they different or just different names for the same leather? i'm curious n not to mention a little confused.

seems like there's a difference between congo and kenya, but i don't know what it is. but congo and printed are the same just one's the old name and the other the new, because the website says printed leather is a classic. also can or should they all be treated with collinil? :confused1:

thanks for your help :smile1:

My question is about havana leather. I have looked in the customer care section on the mulberry website but they dont list this leather and its care :( I find that my oak hanover is very difficult to care for and marks very easily.. such a shame because I would love to use it all summer but im finding it a wee bit difficult! Wondering if anyone else has experience with this type of leather and its care..
