I had the same question until I just got the Alma bb in DE a few days ago. I have to say they are two totally different bags. The Alma has a distinct shape that doesn’t need a purse organizer to keep form. I love my speedy b DE 25 but I am totally glad I bought the Alma as well. With my speedy I was always worried about carrying something heavy because the shape would get weighed down. BTW, I am new to the club! But was on the fence for like 3 years because of my speedy 25 B.

Yes I’m wondering the same question myself. Speedy b DE 25 or alma bb DE? I’m torn but want and need a crossbody bag. I have the speedy 30 DE but find the size a bit too big for my Iiking and also no crossbody strap makes it super heavy when loaded up hence wanting to downsize to the speedy 25 b. But alma bb is also good and useful for this purpose. So my question to you is which one to buy first in your opinion since you have both?

Yes, I didn’t realize the new ones that recently came out had matte leather. If I didn’t buy it directly from the LV website I would have thought something was off. I thought I was going crazy when I opened the box and saw that the leather was different than my speedy b 25 in DE. I called LV in Beverly Hills and they told me that they recently made the change. But tbh I thought I was going crazy before I asked because the the favorite mm in DE I bought two weeks ago in London didn’t have matte leather trim or strap..

Hey welcome to the club ❤️ I also had both alma bb and speedy 25 but in the end I exchanged it with speedy b 30 simply because I wanted more space.. but I do agree, the alma and speedy 25 are quite different. Question, is the leather I see there the matte type leather? My Alma bb that I purchased august last year has shiny-ish leather and all shiny hardware but the speedy 25 and 30 has matte leather and the hardware is more matte as well (purchased last month).. just wondering

If I were you I would get the Alma BB first since you already have a speedy b in a larger size. I like my speedy b in 25 but I do tend to overload that bag so it really didn’t allow me to downsize if you know what I mean. Alma bb, because of it’s shape you will have to prioritize what you need to carry. I also like the fact that it has a shape so I don’t have to worry about the bag droop. I hope that helps. But I am like you. I had the same question about the favorite mm and the Felicie so I ended up getting both bags. I justified the two purchases because I bought the favorite in London and bought the Felicie in Paris.(VAT refund and lower prices in Europe) I have no excuse for buying this Alma BB through.

I am 5’5” and weight 125lbs and the bag fits perfectly as a crossbody and shoulder bag.

Oh man, I just ordered a replacement strap for my alma bb and I'm worried that the leather wont match now, I would really dislike the look if it didn't match (

Don’t worry too much about because I recently purchased the favorite mm in DE (like two weeks ago in London) and it had the regular strap. Maybe the replacement strap could be the same as the old leather.

I’ve owned my Alma BB for over a year and I honestly do not baby it at all! The corners of my bag are still in perfect condition but I could see why you would be concerned. My friend who’s owned hers for a few years doesn’t have any rubbed corners on hers as well which is also what made me choose to purchase that cutie!

I have the vernis Amarante but I’m afraid of using it in the heat since some people have mentioned it gets sticky or starts to melt (yikes!)

When using the Alma BB, what cosmetic do you use? I have a small gold UGG pouch I use to carry lipglosses, lip liner as perfume rollerball; however, it does not fit a compact. For reference, I use a LV business card holder as a wallet and have an iPhone 7. Any suggestions?

Do you ever find the opening of the Alma BB a bit annoying, e.g. the zipper scratching your hands/slgs as you reach in?

I love crossbody bags and I've been debating the Alma BB in either epi noir or DE, but the opening felt very stiff and king of 'tight' - does it soften up a bit over time?

No, it doesn’t really get any softer. My favourite feature of the Alma is that it is so structured and so it keeps its shape. However, I haven’t noticed that it would have hurt my hands or damaged my slgs.

I use my mini pochette for cosmetics in my Alma BB and other small bags. I believe Toiletry pouch 15 would also be ideal if you don’t like the chain of the pochette.
