After reading the quality thread I'm really hesitant to send it to RM since it takes a couple of months to get the bag back. IMO that's an unacceptable amount of time for a repair for a faulty product. I saw your pics in the quality thread I can't even imagine how the handle broke like that?! Did they repair the original bags or just send you new bags?

If you love the bag that much, maybe take it back for exchange and keep an eagle eye on the stitching. Otherwise I'd just get a refund. Did you get it at 900 N Mich? I saw 3 raspberry Cupids there a few days before Xmas.

The part that is the most frustrating is it wasn't used that much and I don't carry a lot of stuff. When I was on vacay I carry more than I normally do day to day but at most is was maybe 2/3rds full.

I did get it at 900 N Michigan Ave it's good to know that they had some more in stock the last time I was there they didn't have any. I live in the NW burbs so I only go shopping down town like once a month. I might consider doing a exchange for a new one I'm really picky about my bags and I picked threw 6 of them to find one with leather I liked a lot of the ones they had were scratched. I'm still undecided on if I want to exchange it or return it. I love this color so much I'm trying to pair down my collection of bags and I have 4 dark red/burgundy color bags and color wise I really like this one the best out of all of them. I also really love the leather on it; it's broken in and it's super smooshy. But I"m not going to lie I'm really disenchanted with the quality of this product at the moment.

I ended up returning it. I decided to take a chance and exchange it if they had any that looked good. They had 3 on hand but none of them were not doing it for me two of them were scratched up and all 3 of them were filthy on the bottom of them. I even tried to wipe off whatever it was on the bottom and it didn't come off. I know I"m picky but I'm not exchanging a broken bag for a dirty one. They offered to send it out for repair but I honestly didn't want to bother with that. I"m kind of sad about it because I really did love it I recovered by buying a LV scarf lol.

I ended up returning mine to Saks and they hunted down one in another store and sent it to me, charging me shipping for that I should add. :rant: But all's well that ends well becuase a week later they had their FF sale and they did a price adjustment for me so I ended up getting a nice discount. :smile1:

I sent a moss mac to RM for repair in Oct and haven't heard back yet...

I sent a mac strap in for repair in early october and just got it back before Christmas. I think it's nice that they do repairs, but I'm glad it wasn't my everyday bag.

Sorry to hear about the few quality issues with the Cupid Bag.:cry: I have had mine for 4 months, and I havent had any problems yet with occasional use. I just took it to NYC the other day, with heavy contents, worn cross body and it survived OK.

The one thing is, it appears the quality/repair issues are on different parts of the bag. So....it's not like there's one fragile flawed area, just isolated defects !?

Would anyone who has the bag still recommend purchasing it? I love the raspberry color and have seen a few come up on ebay and bonanza but wasn't sure if its worth the buy. Can anyone chime in with their opinions? TIA

No, i tried emailing them and was told they'd check on it, didn't hear anything for two weeks. So then I tried again, didn't hear anything for another two days so just posted on RM's Facebook about it. Next thiing I know I have an email from Nicole that they are going to replace it, they didn't have the leather to fix it. I hope I get the replacement as promised, it's been over 5 months of waiting! I wonder if they ever would have gotten back to me if I hadn't posted on RM's facebook page..

Wowww 5 months of waiting is ridiculous! They should give you a free mac in addition to fixing yours :graucho:

That's nuts! Hope your replacement is worry-free! Perhaps the girls that have been waiting in vain to hear from Nicole about their SO should try Facebook to get a response.

I have the chocolate cupid and it's holding up well. I love that it's the size of the MAM, but has all of those extra pockets to organize things in. The outside magnetic slip pocket is the best thing ever imo. Perfect to stash your cellphone in for easy access. Also, you can adjust the length on the long strap so it hits you how you want cross body, or you can shorten it to wear it as a long shoulder bag. Both of those features (adjustable strap & magnetic slip pocket) would be awesome additions to MAM, wouldn't they !?!

The only negative for me, if I have to reach for one, is the short handles are a strange thickness. I would want them to be a bit thicker bc it feels odd to hold the bag by those straps (or maybe I'm just used to MAM straps). I do recommend the bag.

My Cement Cupid has held up as well, I haven't had any problems. Although, I haven't brought it out since wearing it for a few weeks after I first bought it. :shame: Maybe it's time to bring her out again! I completely agree with Robinn about the organization and outer slip pocket (why can't more RM's have this?!) and the short handles being on the thin side. I would also recommend as it's a great versatile bag, and is a great size.
