The Cupid Bag

It was slightly shiny. The leather has a dark undertone to it, so I would say it looks aged or as if it has darkened through age...... I wouldn't call it distressed, meaning that it will look scuffed and worn in. I hope that helps!
Yes it helps. It sounds like the blood red; kind of unevenly toned with a slight sheen.

I just was at the mall (King of Prussia, outside of Philadelphia) and Nordstroms had the new Mini MAC and Brynn in the Raspberry color, the same shade the Cupid can be pre-ordered in. Raspberry is a shade of Plum with reddish-black undertones.... or if you think of the darkest purple shade that you could see in a Raspberry fruit, it's that color. The photos on Saks make it look like it's a dark burgandy-pink, and I just wanted to clarify that it's more purply than burgandy. Gold hardware looks REALLY nice with those bags.

Sounds gorgeous!

Anthracite Puzzle Cupid arrives tomorrow. I have been intrigued by that leather ever since I saw a picture of it on AA's facebook page months ago. I just hope it isn't TOOOO metallic. I am hoping for a darker toned bag for fall. Anyhoo, pics to follow....:smile1:

I ordered metallic taupe, red, and violet (yes, my husband is ready to KILL me) but I don't plan to keep them all. Will probably sell the red & taupe after I see them (ebay or bonanza or both) but I'm not sure until I see them. For those who already have their cupids, how do they fit over the shoulder? Not the cross body strap but the handles? Thats my biggest worry is that it'll be too snug like the MAM, and I'm afraid the red will be too orange for me.

If I could only choose one, what do I pick? Tan Cupid or lavender? First I thought hands down, it HAD to be classic tan but now I don't know. The lavender has totally grown on me and it's just SO lovely! They are so different due to colour being being different.

If I really want a Botkier Eloise satchel in tan, is that my cue to get Cupid in lavender???

YES!

Got my lavendar cupid yesterday, AMAZING....much softer than I thought it would be and I love it. Red and metallic taupe should come today.....I'm afraid I'll love them both and have to find a way to convince DH to let me keep them all! (never gonna happen)..... :smile1::smile1:

Oh, you are so lucky...you're half way there :graucho:

I wish I could just buy both the lavender & tan right now, but they are $565 CDN instead of $495 up here...not good! It's a good enough reason to make we wait (shop in the US or wait for at least one of them to go on promo). I took another look at both bags today. They unstuffed the tan Cupid a bit so it's not all puffy like a pillow...sigh, softer & slouchier (tan/gold is classic) although still thicker leather than the ultra soft lavender cupid :faint: femme but still just edgier & youthful...

What can I say? I know I just want both.

Prior to last week, I had seen the Cupid in every color available except lavender and chocolate (to my knowlege the other available colors are Teal, Taupe, Red, Black, Gray, Raspberry, and Navy). I wanted the bag in Navy because I prefer deeper tones, but I took a chance in the sale and bought the Chocolate. I am 100% happy with my decision. Photos to follow as soon as I figure out HOW !?! They're in my camera but I have to figure how to post them..... To be continued.

Ok, hopefully this works. I just signed up for photobucket since I saw others using it...

As shown in the first photo, the bag is too snug using just the handles imo.... It is definitely up in my underarm too much. However, you could consider doubling over the cross body strap and using it as a long shoulder bag. See second photo below. The bag was not full, but I put a couple of paperback books in it to weigh it down for the photos. I'm 5'2 for reference.

Oh congrats!!! She is gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing great photos...the chocolate is not all THAT dark and I'm wondering if what I'm referring to as *tan* in the store is actually chocolate? Because when I Google RM cupid tan - nothing pops up. But there are some images of chocolate - it looks like a deeper shade of brown online.

Oh, may I ask what the sale price was? It's going to kill me of course because I'll have to pay $565 + tax. However, you are totally enabling me...it's a classic beauty but not the slightest bit dull-classic.

This leather is very difficult to photograph. It reflects the flash poorly. But IRL it is dark charcoal gray/black with taupe and silver flecks. It has a bit of a distressed finish. It is very different from my other bags. I like it a lot.
