The coach Parker

To give you some perspective, I carry bags on the small end, and the Parker still doesn't work for me. I find it to be an awkward bag because of the separator, the pockets that are too small to hold anything, and the structure of the bag. I tried it, and I just couldn't make it work. I then bought a top handle one thinking that would be better because it doesn't have a separator in it, but it was just as difficult. The space was tight, the pockets don't really hold anything, etc.

So if you aren't feeling it, I would return it while you can. It is a beautiful bag, but it does take some getting used to. I know many love their Parkers, but it isn't for everyone.

I agree - it is a bit of an awkward bag! I really like the back outside pocket - it fits my phone, and I don't feel putting my phone in there badly stretches it out...somehow, the smooth leather pocket against the quilted leather seems to make the pocket relatively loose to begin with. I find the inner pockets useless though, and I do wish they didn't have the divider. I really do love how it looks though, so I'm going to sit with it for a bit (while being mindful of the return period!). It does fit just about everything I would want, but it's a super tight squeeze with my larger sunglasses case (which, to be fair, I certainly don't need to carry in that bag as I have plenty of other sunglasses in cases that DO fit) and/or my selfie stick (which I actually never carry with me, but I was thinking that if I ever took it on a trip, I might want the selfie stick with me. Even though I've forgotten to bring it on the last few trips we went on, so really, what are the chances it's even an issue to begin with? :noworry:). So, it's not unmanageable, but I think I need some time to really discern if it's a good purchase for me.

It’s definitely not the “carry all” type of bag, it serves different occasion than these carry all bags you are loving for everyday.

I find bags with separate sections to be difficult so while I may like some of them, I know they don't work well for me unless I decide to do major modifications to what I carry. Sometimes that works and other times it doesn't. I don't have many bags like this in my collection. I toyed with getting the black w/ rivets, too, but I just think Parker isn't a strong option for me and I'd rather use my money on something I will get more joy out of carrying.

I just got it. That is my concern too but it is SOOO PRETTY.

I just registered here because I'm thinking about purchasing this bag and I was about to post a thread asking the same question about the likelihood of it peeling.

I've got two other Coach bags and one of them is the black twist quilted leather from a few years ago. That one is definitely showing its wear, in spite of the fact that I'm being delicate with it and conditioning it often. The quilting lends itself to showing wear more easily, I think.
So, with this new ombre one, when you factor in the quilting, colours & glaze, I'm really concerned about how long it will last and just how bad it might look if it peels in large bits. :-s
Would really appreciate any input from others who may have experience with similar models from Coach re the likelihood of it peeling.

There's also the issue that I bought both my other bags full price only for them to go on sale a couple of months after I bought them. :annoyed: So now I'm wondering if this one will be included in a sale or if I should snap it up before I lose the chance. Decisions, decisions!

That one is currently included in the sale that ends tomorrow. 30% off use code MARCH19 in the shopping cat.

Hi everyone! I too have a question on the quilted Parker's wear and tear. As a college graduation gift I got myself a black quilted Parker shipped from the US to Asia. However when it arrived there seem to be a scuff on its finishing (see picture). What is it and how do I get rid of it?

This incident also triggered some doubts I have about the bag. Is the Parker's quilted lambskin good quality? When I googled "bonded leather" the texture of the Parker fitted the description of it being smooth and a bit plasticy. The feel of it's leather also resembled my faux leather lambskin bag; not as luxurious and supple as my pebbled leather DKNY wallet.

Would anyone also kindly show the wear and tear of their quilted Parkers? This would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you in advance :-)
