I can't really speak for Red Valentino bags, but I've seen See By Chloes in person, and the leather has always looked of poor quality. The suedes are stiff with low piling, and the pebbled leather seems coarse, instead of thick and firm. I think
Coach's NY lines allow their target market to opt in, but the Coach 1941 allows them to reach into an upper market and allows them to participate in runway shows. It also gives collectors less mainstream options, which is fine by me. I can't generally afford the 1941 (missed out on the Kisslocks, have yet to purchase a Rogue), but if I came across the right one, it might be a worthwhile enough investment to consider.
In the future I'm looking for a non-Saffiano, medium-sized shoulder bag. In the luxury market, almost all houses (especially with the poor Canadian dollar exchange rate) tend to have shoulder bags that are over $2000 (and will likely still climb). A Valentino Glamlock used to be around this much, but now it is reaching into the $2500 range, and the Spike Bag is over $3000...which is absolutely mind boggling. Don't get me started on Chanels because they are pretty much impossible!!

If Coach can develop a Parker type of shoulder bag with exceptional quality, $1000 is reasonable for a shoulder bag considering how much many other brands are charging. It would have to be a "lifetime" piece for me, likely with 10+ years of usage.
But Coach needs to first remind the consumers of its quality before they get more people to trust paying full line for the 1941 line first. And no doubt there will be ways to get the 1941 lines for less - some of the bags are more seasonal styles/colors, but I would like them to also start establishing more classic/permanent lines too.
This is an excellent topic!!
