I got this beauty from the boutique last week, shiny caviar in aged gold hardware. I was surprised that it is actually leather lined, hope this will give more structure to the bag though I still ordered a base shaper to be sure.

Pictured her with the siblings, classic flap in lambskin and coco handle in iridiscent caviar. In love with these three!

Oh, wow. That’s great that the lining is leather. That makes me want to buy another! (And I haven’t wanted to buy Chanel in ages.). My one complaint about my Boy is that it has a textile lining. It makes the bag very light, of course, but it also feels flimsier and less “luxurious.” Fear of wrecking the lining is the main reason I don’t carry it more often. I actually worry more about damaging the textile interior than I do the lamb skin. (Lamb skin is not that scary, IMO.) Your bag is beautiful, congrats! OT but it gladdens my heart to visit this thread and see others who still love this bag. I think it’s a classic, and mine is a “forever bag” that I often joke will have to be pried from my cold, dead hands. I own my medium classic flap almost out of a sense of obligation (lol), but my Boy I own because I enjoy it.

Hello Everyone! I absolutely LOVE this forum and this thread! Nowhere else do I feel comfortable obsessing over this particular bag. I used to have the new medium boy (in black lambskin) maybe 7 years ago but sold it because I was just babying it too much (and it was slightly too big for every day use). I also sold my boy woc (also in black lambskin) for the same reason.. and also my caviar GHW and SHW (because I really wanted lambskin but felt caviar would be more durable... but I just didn't FEEL for the caviar as much). I felt bad having spent that much money on things I weren't even using.

BUUUUUUUUT I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE lambskin  and the story and design of the boy bags, so my husband finally nudged me into buying a pre-loved old medium boy (in black lambskin w/ruthenium hardware) from Fashionphile. I check periodically for drool-factor, but noticed that the prices are much lower than just a year or two ago. So... I just pulled the trigger yesterday and am just waiting for its arrival! :yahoo: Even as my husband was egging me on, I was honestly trying to find reasons why I shouldn't do it (I may get robbed while walking around, lambskin is just too delicate for every day use, scuffs easily, chain in heavy, things might fall off, etc.)... but I decided.. you know what, who cares if it scuffs? How badass would it be if I used this bag SO MUCH so that it was scratched, scuffed, squished, etc? THAT is how I can get the MOST bang for my buck. It's not like I'm trying to pass it down to anyone.
I haven’t been on Purseforum in a long time, so this response probably seems weirdly belated, but I hope you have enjoyed your Boy! You made a good point about using it without anxiety because you’re not passing it on to anyone. When I had a son instead of the daughter I had always imagined, I thought, “well, I won’t have a daughter to inherit my classic bags, so I guess I can start using and enjoying them a bit more now,” but then I talked myself into saving them for my niece (unless my son does want them, which is always possible). When I was in college, I was fascinated by the girls who wore their grandmother’s heirloom pearls and carried vintage bags they were handed down by their mothers (usually an LV Speedy) - as someone from a working class, immigrant family, this was very much not my world - and I think this impacted me a bit too much. It’s silly. My Birkin, for example, has only left its dust bag about 5 times in the 4 years I’ve owned it because, gosh, I don’t want to give my niece a bag with scratched hardware, lol. I got my medium classic flap in caviar so that I could actually use it without making it look “too” used, even though my heart belongs to lamb skin. When I see someone with a really well-worn, broken-in luxury bag, I always think “good for her!”

I’m on the hunt for a black boy bag with top handle and gold hardware. I feel like I saw one that was recently released, but I don’t know the collection. Has anyone seen a top handle boy bag in stores recently?
Found one on eBay

Thank you so much, lovely! Yep, i’m loving the Boy so much..I bought a leather base shaper to protect the bottom of the bag and make it more sturdy for when I have to press to open the bag. I actually sold my medium flap in lambskin a few months after having the Boy because I just wasn’t using her and it’s a shame to have that much money just collecting dust. I’m more carefree when I use the Boy and it just looks so edgy and classy at the same time. I used to ignore the Boy but I guess you have to own it to appreciate it.. ❤️

LeBoy is a classic and I will have it forever, for sure..

Does anyone know the color code on this boy bag? I saw them both in the CHANEL stock thread and I believe they are different but I could be wrong. One looks dark beige with shiny light gold hardware and one looks Carmel with antique gold hardware someone please help with the color codes. Thank youView attachment 5653817View attachment 5653818
Hi! I recently purchased the exact one that you posted with the antique gold hardware. The colour code on my receipt says NB356. I'm not sure what season it's from since the tag wasn't included in my purchase and I didn't check with the SA before leaving the store. But I think it should be 23C

Hi ladies,

Does anyone know if LV zippy wallet fits inside medium boy bag? I've just purchased boy bag as a present for a person who carries her zippy wallet everywhere. So I'm starting to wonder if it will fit inside the medium boy bag. And I don't have one to try it out before I give her this present.

Thanks

I don't have a zippy wallet, but I often use Sarah or Emily wallet inside old medium boy, so zippy wallet should fit.

Joining the club with a boy bag in the color I love, except its in lambskin. Not sure if I should keep, since I want to wear it frequently and not just for special events. Please share feedback on wear and tear of lambskin Boy bags.

TYSM!

Ooh what color is this? I am contemplating a coloured chanel boy but i wonder if it would then be a forever bag
When I bought it from Fashionphile, they told me it was dark red, but it is more a burgundy colour which I was actually looking for. I find the colour so versatile! The date code is 28555352. I have some other Chanel bags and it took me a while to like the boy bag, but now I am absolutely in love. It will be a forever bag for me even if some say it is not as much in style anymore. Go for what you like!
