I recently purchased a small boy with light gold hardware and I find the chain MUCH heavier than the chain on my old medium boy with aged gold hardware. As soon as I put my phone inside the small size boy, the bag digs into my shoulder which is funny for its mini size. Anyone know if Chanel makes their chains from different materials? Is the light gold hardware usually made of a heavier metal? I have a trendy cc bag in size medium also with a light gold hardware and I find that bag heavy as well. TIA!

Hi! I have the exact same bag (also my first Chanel!) and I do not apply anything to it. I always keep it in the dust bag with tissue stuffing when its not being used and am mindful of the cleanliness of my hands when I bring her out. I would not advise treating it unless there was damage, in which case, definitely contact your SA for expert advise. If I do ever need to wipe something off, I just use a soft towel/minimal moisture

Here is my first Boy! It’s the new medium, 19 series so around 2014/15. Light pink calfskin with Ruthenium HW. Question - did the first few new mediums have the zippered pocket but no patch pocket on the opposite side? This one only has the zippered pocket. It has been authenticated and I purchased f a very reliable seller so not worried about that, but just curious. This exact bag is currently listed at a few other consignment stores and pics show the same thing, no patch pocket.

I've finally received it and because it is my first Boy I have doubts about it being too puffy. I love puffy classics, and generally I also like the look of this particular Boy, but I'm wondering if isn't it too puffy for a Boy? Or maybe I'm overthinkig it. Please tell me what you think because I can still return it.

The boy is a continuous collection but not all boutiques have a large selection. I know in Toronto late 2019 they only had black caviar with light gold hardware, no ruthenium. My brother went to europe and I was lucky enough to buy the medium black boy caviar with ruthenium but it was quilted. I wanted to get the chevron in caviar but they only had it in calfskin. Smooth calfskin in chevron was available last year in europe.

When I purchased my boy bag in July last year (black caviar with antique gold hardware) the SA told me that this specific combo is classic meaning that it’s constantly being released and does not belong to a specific season so I believe same like classic flap where the black is classic and then there are different colors each season, I’m not sure about ruthenium hardware but I’d imagine it’s the same like gold.
