I think you made the right choice.
It is ofcourse personal preference, but to me the mini is too east west if you know what i mean.

I'm so glad that I could help someone else! I feel in Chanel, that we don't always hear the full story or the correct story, they often 'spin the truth' to their advantage in an attempt to make you purchase (I work in luxury fashion and have seen this sales tactic before but I don't use it).

I loved my GST, definitely one of my favourite classic Chanel's! All the very best and I look forward to seeing a reveal when you find your new bag! :p

I just bought the A15206 model (blk w/ GHW, 30cm) which I believe is the original style & leather and I like it much better than the seasonal leather - I find that the seasonal leather is just too grainy for that style of bag - the original leather makes it look "cleaner" and smoother for that structured look and it does not hurt that it is cheaper too :p
