I use bag-a-vie pillows for all of my Chanel bags. They work perfectly! I got mine off of ebay.
Me too! Love them.

I really, really want a Cerf tote. Black with gold hardware. But I just really hate how they look when they have softened up. I know it's an old debate now but is there any way that this bag would still keep it's shape if it wasn't used every day and if it wasn't filled with too much stuff? I just like it so much with it's boxy look but I saw one that had obviously been on display for a while and it was starting to slouch. It would break my heart if I paid all that money for this bag and it ended up all puddled and slouchy.
I use bag-a-vie inserts. Love they way it stays.
How long have you had your Cerf for? I don't know if they sell these inserts in the UK.
For years. Probably 8. They sell internationally. Go to their website. I think it's bagavie.com
Do you have pics of your Cerf you could kindly post? Has it lost its shape at all?
When empty, it will slouch but when stored it is well formed so there is no creasing. Sorry, not technologically inclined ;-( don't know how to post pictures.
So the inserts don't really stop it from slouching? They just stop it from creasing?

Yes, I can carry it on my shoulder but not sure if the new ones are as soft. Mine is deerskin. Not sure what they use now and they have that tab across the top which might make it more difficult to "soften", if you know what I mean. I prefer to carry it in the crook of my arm though. How do you carry your bag? On your shoulder or the crook of your arm? Did it soften enough that you could carry it on the shoulder?

I think they are now made of caviar leather. I wonder if that means they're less prone to slouching? I saw a brand new one on display and it was really rigid but there was another one on display that had already started slouching. so would you say yours is still boxy looking?
Not sure it's caviar. It looked like textured leather, last I saw one but they do seem to be more rigid then mine is. As far as slouching, I think with time everything might slouch, except a caviar flap and even that if you don't take care of it. My bags are always stored properly. I always put my inserts in and lay down the ones that are more prone to slouching. Gravity is always working against us ;-( My cerf is well formed but will start to slouch with use but once I store it and place my inserts inside, I find it stays better formed longer. My bags in general look better. Of course I do baby them and don't abuse them and religiously stuff them when I don't use them.
