Hi! I haven't been here for a while but I just got a new job (yay!) so I'm planning on spending my new earnings on a Cerf tote! 
I went into the Bloor Street boutique in Toronto a couple of months ago and asked one of the SAs there about the bag, and she told me that it only comes in one size??
However, I remember looking all over these forums prior to that visit because I've been interested in this bag for quiiiite some time!
So... I'm guessing she's wrong...?? lol
Does anyone know the dimensions, or style numbers for either size?
I'm looking for the larger one I believe in black with the CC closure with SHW...

The SA is right the Cerf Tote comes in only one size. Check out the Chanel website they have pics and also the reference library.
price just increased to $3000...Saks didnt have their increase yet as of yesterday but i was told there were no Cerf totes in their inventory...and yes, theres only 1 size...there was one several yrs ago w a slightly different shape but i havent seen it around - the current one is much better looking - i happen to have that older model as well as current one...got mine at a much better price point!
oh wow. I remember reading through threads and people saying they have the cerf tote in both sizes, or that they preferred the smaller or larger ones, etc.
but I guess it only comes in one size now.
and joansie, I'm in Canada and when I checked a few months ago, the tote was already at $3100... was the price increase for all of North America?? :O

I am so glad I found this thread about the cerf tote and especially your information about the Bag-a-Vie! I love my cerf and don't want it to lose its structured shape, so I will be ordering some asap. Thanks for this info!
I just got the Cerf tote in black with GHW about 2 weeks ago. I was torn between the beige with GHW, but since I do not own a black tote, I decided to get a beige tote (either the Cerf or GST) another time. After researching this bag for a few weeks, I had also noticed that it may get less stiff over time and become slouchy. However, the Cerf is truly an AMAZING bag. So versatile and classic. When I store my bag, I just insert the tissue paper back inside like the way it was when I purchased it. Anyone who is interested in this bag, by all means go for it. You will not regret it.

I went to the Chanel boutique yesterday and wanted to have a look before making a decision. The friendly SA brought out a black with SHW and a light beige with GHW. Was interested in the beige but thought the colour should be lighter- more towards ivory (the one featured in the Chanel website/ carried by Cameron Diaz in cent photos) rather than light brown.
Does the beigey one look more brown irl? How many colours does the cerf tote come in?

I believe light beige and black for this current season in caviar. But I've also seen dark brown and tan colors. All are equally beautiful.

I was hoping not to get a caviar peice for the tote. Think perhaps I would wait a while more for another material. Somehow prefer the feel of a smoother leather...

How do you guys cope with the inside pouch? I had one and sold it a few months back as the pouch poppers kept coming loose and it fell down inside the bag. Other than that, I loved it and miss it so wonder if I made too much if a big deal of that little flaw?
Camellia Pearl, I have only used my Cerf a few times. However, I had no issues with the detachable pouch staying put. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with selling the bag if you were not completely happy with it. These bags cost too much for you NOT to love everything about it.
