I was just at LV and they have had several returns on the Caissa hobo because of the failure of the handle. That small screw is just not going to hold it properly. You would think LV would know better when they actually designed and produced the bag. I don't get it. I talked to a few other stores that I work with and they all said they are well aware of the handle issue. They tried to say it was because the bags are overfilled and too heavy. It is so sad that such a beautiful bag would have this happen. You would think they would know better. I need to look at the high end hobo coming out next week (the name starts with a G, but I forgot it) because it looks like it might have similar hardware. If it gets delayed, we will know why. I know some members have talked about their screws are loose and they tighten them, but I could not keep doing that and always be worried about it. It is an obvious issue and they really need to take the bags back and make them with an appropriate handle. What really makes me mad is that they don't disclose it when they sell it. Actually, they shouldn't be selling it at all until they fix the issue.

I read on here that someone had hardware issues on their Caissa. How did it happen?

I don't know but the screw is definitely super small and it seems that the whole mechanism unscrewed itself.

The second bag I have did just fine with the same amount of things inside but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I check it all the time now.

The screws were not tightened enough when assembled. They (LV SAs) should stop blaming that "overload your bag" thing. It's mean to carry our possessions right? If that's what they are implying 😩

The screws are designed by them (tried matching it with all the drill bit heads that hubby and I has got at home) but nothing fits (technician talking here lol)

In my opinion, if bag screws keep coming loose, they should at least provide the proper tool, like furniture manufacturers do. Mine is fine so far, but I keep inspecting it too. Called LV and express this particular concern but because my bag is ok, they are not really too concern.

Maybe they have a batch of not torque up or unglued screws?

Sorry, I'm annoyed for you now. They are lucky it wasn't me or I'll give them a lecture on the importance of right torque on expensive bags LOL!!
We are not just talking money here but the heartache of seeing our beautiful hobos fail us 😩

I'm so sorry that your beautiful bag is failing you again 😩

Yap, the new hobo mono seems to have the same type of handle. Hopefully, they will fix the screw issues so I don't stress. I am loving my bag still, but I keep checking for loose screws still.

Oh no. Same thing is happening!

Yes and I'm kind of worried. I'm watching it. I tightened it the one time, just to make sure it didn't get tightened before it left the factory. But I won't keep doing it.

I love this bag, but I'm not going to spend this much on a bag and have to keep tightening the screw.

I HATE to say this but if it loosens, I'll return it. If the handle on the upcoming hobo is the same, I don't want to deal with it either, so I may just go with the Delightful DE MM. Then I will have the complete trifecta. LOL

I just went and checked my screw and it's loose again and now a second screw is loose.

I'm sick!!! I've sent a text to my SA. I guess I'll be returning. :nogood::tdown::crybaby:

I'm so sorry it happened again to your bag.
Mine is still ok, but If this happens, i'll be returning it too. I hope LV is investigating. They probably have a batch of bags with loose screw :sad:

I'm hoping they have a fix for it. I would feel better about that than a new bag unless they have addressed the problem.

Maybe check the bag date code? Mine i think is SA1135. This around march this year? My screws are pretty secure. But I want that bit. it shouldn't cost much to make them. They should change the screws to revits, that way it more secure and permanent

I'm so sad for you... I ended up returning mine too.
I was at LV last week and there was a gal returning hers because the handle came apart.
I have enough stress in my life without added a bag I constantly need to worry about.
