On grey days, Rhubarb sometimes felt muddled.
Inside his stuffed head, where extra thoughts built up.
Because no sunshine coaxed them outside to play.
So the thoughts became cranky.

Bear visited garden's wise turtle today.
To talk about his cranky & crammed head.
Hoping to feel better. Hoping for an answer.

Such cloudy moods, turtle explained, escaped through one's ears.
Then advised Rhubarb to avoid wearing hats.
Especially during month of April.

Bear found turtle's wisdom confusing.
Until Jimmy the lizard explained how chelonians rarely wore hats.
And really enjoyed f***ing with people.

I remember having to make a crown, to wear for school day, every QE2 birthday.
Done with that, thank goodness.
