"The prices are the lowest, and yet you still want to make me a low offer. Do you understand what luxury means?"
In French, Italian & German. She had it in English, but now she's graduated to insulting people in a variety of European tongues.
Wow, that's really something! She sounds like a really angry person. Such an unusual angle for someone in the business of selling stuff.

I believe that! But there's no way I'd attempt to hand feed a wild kangaroo 😂
I wouldn't attempt to feed a deer in the wild either. These ladies are a bit special, Kaleden is a small kind of rural town in the Okanagan (it's our summer place) and the deer are a constant herd in the area. They wander through yards eating flowers and such, lying in the shade in the summer months. Most people don't feed them, I'm a bit of an anomaly TBH. As such, they recognize me from year to year and come up looking for a handout. We have a lot of orchards in the area was well, and there's deer fencing everywhere. But our property is wide open and we have apricot trees...they practically live on our property when the apricots start to fall.

Gosh that sounds amazing! My partner and I want to move to more land, this is making me want to do it RIGHT NOW 😂 I feel you on being an anomaly, I've picked up wild Blue Tongue Lizards & Possums before, even an Owl once - don't recommend that though. Often because they've been injured, orphaned or made it inside 😅 I'm a bit of a proud animal freak.

Same. We have 3.4 acres which used to be an old orchard (still have about a dozen apricot and two or three apple trees). The hope is to move there full time, right now we have a fifth wheel (more like a small condo really, we're not roughing it ) and spend as much of the summer as possible there. I just returned to the coast last week and now am keeping the bird feeders full here.
One of my does in Kaleden had a bad injury earlier in the summer, a badly broken foreleg. Probably hit by a car, we feared she wouldn't survive it, plus she has a pair of fawns. They're hardy animals though and she's still hobbling around, it's healing but she can't put much weight on it. She can run fast on three legs so I have hope she'll survive the winter, although she's underweight. I fed her as much as I could, and one of the neighbours is keeping an eye out for her (they're year round residents). The fawns are sturdy and staying near her. I love Kaleden, it's a great community and we're smack dab in the middle of wine country.

Ooh I have my fingers crossed for you that you can move there full time, I just looked it up, it looks incredibly beautiful 😍
That so sweet for you & the neighbours to look out for her 💕 It sounds like that's a fantastic community.
A place only recently hit the market & we took a look at it, it was beautiful, but sadly out of budget, as with most larger properties now that the market has gone so crazy since COVID. We've agreed on a 5 year plan so we can get our business a bit more set up so we aren't constantly working 6/7 days a week so we have the time for the property. My partners dream is to be on big acreage, he wants to have cattle 🐄. There's beautiful land not far from where we live (we leave in suburbia just before the hills) so we're basically looking at moving only another 10/15mins away and we'll be in the hills, there's apple, pear & fig orchards, then a little further out is wine country. Definitely a big goal of ours. 💕

Enjoyed reading about this idyllic place. It sounds like heaven to me too. Heaven with gentle creatures and good neighbors. Hoping your sweet doe and her babies keep doing well. ❤️

We lucked out about 8 years ago and bought our property before it hit the market.
