You are 100% right ! I am seeing the increase in front of my eyes from week to week … on occasion you might find a gem here and there but in general - insane. Demand is driving this ?

Also certain bags from some other brands . YSL had in Tom Ford’s era a Mombasa with dear antler or metal handle. Ir fell out of fashion and you could get them for $200 for few years. Bottega Veneta came out with Sardine (same shape and metal handle, just fish LOL) and Mombasa is now $1000 on resale. I wanted to buy one which I sold stupidly (dark brown) and was waiting so it went to $300, $500 and now rarely nice condition below $1000.

Bals the same. It was very recently when I bought the Day for $350 in amazing condition and sold it (it is not my style) … if I wanted to buy the same (pristine Bordeaux) it would be about $1000 also. I will stick with what I have I guess . Now and then some hidden unappreciated gem comes by, so it is fun to stalk

I’ve noticed an incredible increase in prices at TRR lately. They might be hoping interest in Balenciaga 2.0 might mean increase sales, but their lack of information, poor photos and track record of missing obvious fakes & hiding damage doesn’t really justify the price increases we’ve seen lately

when it comes to private sales I still think its overzealous sellers who price their bags what they THINK they’re worth when the the reality is, they’re only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. I’ve had bags priced lower than what I paid and they’re still slow to move & I get ridiculously low-ball offers wanting them for even less, so I don’t think demand is driving the price. Some bags are worth more than others — but $3k for an early Balenciaga is just nuts. I won an ebay auction for a Caribou First 3 months ago that ended at $700 (it was cancelled by eBay after being deemed not authentic by their esteemed appraisers 🙄). Thats a pretty early/rare bag and it had every chance to sell for more but it didn’t - the most anyone was willing to pay was $700. That Mystery Green First at VC sat for days at $800 — a little on the high side, IMO, but its a rare color and it didn’t look like it was in bad condition. It wound up selling for $6-something.

I’d hang on for a little while. I suspect, prices will fall back to where they were about a year ago once again

Yes specifically TRR I’ve noticed very few decently priced and most in bad condition or hard to tell with photos. I have sent stuff back for not disclosing some of the damages. Hopefully there will be a fall soon.

Yes you are right.

Every day I look not only at new TRR but also SOLD and I am more and more surprised how high some bags went for. As for City 2.0 perhaps it does have some influence because black cities go for best prices.

On another note, it seems like I live and travel in Bal-less places because I do not see a single one anywhere. Wherever I went in Canada, zero on the streets, last summer Boston and Germany, zero anywhere, summer before Greece for almost a month, no Bals anywhere. Hmmm

I’m in Sydney Australia here and have noticed an uptick of people wearing City’s and small crossbodies (by uptick I mean going from seeing 0 people to 5-6 in the past few weeks). I’m a First fan and have yet to see anybody wearing one other than myself

Im from North Florida and visited a month ago for two weeks and saw 0. I live in Maine and see 0 (but thats no surprise)
