To add injury to insult, it's been painted. Shocked. :oh:

Can you please educate me on how I can tell if a bag has been painted? I would really appreciate any info you can offer that will help me avoid making a mistake when buying preloved.
Usually people can tell by looking up the bags tag number and code and comparing it to the color and leather of the original bag. You can also tell by the cloth in the zipper tape which color it is supposed to be when looking at the forums. Some painted bags have a super saturated painted look instead of looking like a colored leather. Best bet is to post it in the authenticate forum prior to purchasing and they can identify it with the correct photos.

Tell Miss Attitude what she's smelling is the cheap dye fumes from this bag! (Meanwhile a few days from now we'll see where she accepted a $300 offer for what she currently wants $800 for.)
The only thing "stinking" here are those fumes! lololol

If it looks way more flat, matte, and too uniform - not dyed/painted will have more life and variation to the colour.

Sometimes it's a bad paint job and paint also gets on the studs/rivets. In those cases, you also need to zoom in on photos to look at the base of the studs/rivets for paint marks.

Ex, this yellow on TRR - it looks flat/matte and has paint on one of the studs.

Thank you both, very much.

Hey guys! I’m on vacation somewhere close to home and came across this local leather good company! I’m usually not a fan of most leather goods small owned(too rigid) but the colors and leather looks amazing. If anyone has anything they want me to scope out if take more photos of let me know . Looks like they also do customs.

I got that email too
Not sure what it means though, since US users can’t buy or sell
How can we reach more potential buyers when we’re not permitted to use the site?
