Is a 2008 First in pristine condition as rare as I think it is? I think I read here on the Forum that 2008 leather is one of the really good years. Yes? No? Maybe?

I have an 08 Sapphire and it is by far the BEST leather of all the bags I own. It's the "chewy" type leather rather than the baby soft.
I think both Chevre' & Agneau are great leathers, it's personal preference or just love them both for their unique qualities.

I found a pic of my Sapphire City.. I actually have 2 but of the two this one has leather to die for.. So chewy and delicious..
Anyway here she is:
ETA Don't look at those poor corners.. They have been rehabbed.

It's gorgeous! Love that rich, deep purple. The pics on VC don't look as dark a purple, but I hope that's just lighting. It's on its way to the VC authentication. I really shouldn't be buying another bag, but have wanted a Bal Sapphire since the first time I saw the color.

It's gorgeous! Love that rich, deep purple. The pics on VC don't look as dark a purple, but I hope that's just lighting. It's on its way to the VC authentication. I really shouldn't be buying another bag, but have wanted a Bal Sapphire since the first time I saw the color.

I'm hoping & praying it will be lovely in person.
To be honest, some parts of the photos look dark & rich, I think many of the pics are suffering from flash photography wash out.
Everything we can see in the indirect light looks deep & yummy!

@reovi There was prior to covid but IDK if there is now. they wont post them but might email them. You might be able to call & talk to somebody for some verbal description but that ship may have sailed too.
Many ppl have suggested TRR add the "right" photos, including myself but they don't seem to care..

In my experience I’ve always been told no. They’ve said to purchase and if there’s a problem I can be refunded. Note that it’s been at least a year or more since I’ve spoken to them so things may have changed.

My experience was over 3 years ago.
They had the location of the item on the listing, I believe it was in CA.
Anyway I called and was able to ask questions & get verbal descriptions but that is very unlikely to be the case now.

I'm not sure they even list a phone number now. It may just be email.

Absolutely no way to get a bag pulled for visual confirmation. Many years ago, they would actually pull a bag for specific photos, but those days are gone.

For those well wishers, hoping my purchase of the “would be,” 03 Chocolate City, would have a happy ending, I’m afraid it’s on its way back. Here are a couple of the photos that should have been posted.
