Amazing! We’re you the original purchaser? Can I ask how much it cost?
Beautiful! Probably cost extra $600-$750 for the replacement?
I got this preloved for a great deal because it was pretty beat up, but the interior was clean and the canvas was immaculate. It didn’t really matter to me what the vachetta looked like because I knew I would be replacing it all, which ended up costing $780. This is the first bag where I’ve replaced all the leather and it was a really good experience. I might consider doing it with other bags just to get the older canvas, especially for bags that will get thrown around a lot. I also got the MM size done and that one cost $680 but it’s still at the repair center. Stay tuned for a reveal of that one next month! Just happy to bring some life back to these older bags

Totally agree, the older canvas built like tank! so thick sturdy and 20 years on still holds well looking like new! I just don't understand why so many newer especially made after 2014 bags have so much issues with the canvas!

Issues not only with the canvas, but stitching, glazing ... the list goes on. I’m also worried the new canvas won’t wear as well as the old canvas. Only time will tell. But yes, old canvas is sturdy and this one looks great for being a bag from 1995!

Has anyone seen the new Montsouris PM in person? The vachetta looked kind of coated to me. Like there was a shiny layer that you don’t usually see with patina. I saw a few bloggers referring to it as “treated vachetta”. That would be amazing if it was treated so can avoid the usual pitfalls of vachetta. Wondering if anyone knows for sure if it is just vachetta with patina or if LV has actually treated the leather to make it more durable?

I saw it in store and my CA told me that some of the newer bags (like the new montsouris pm & bb) come with pretreated vachetta so that it will patina more evenly.

I bought the montsouris yesterday and the Vachetta is darker than usual. I asked to see two just in case. They were both about the same. Here is a picture F72558C4-8CD1-4585-86AA-76AE29839360.jpeg

Just got my Montsouris GM back from repair and I am in love with it all over again! Had all the vachetta replaced, which took about 14 weeks. Here’s a photo of the bag, as well as a before and after of the buckle. So happy, like I just got a new bag :yahoo:

WOW! Looks great! I was thinking of buying a vintage bag and doing this. $780 for everything is a good price. I would love to see pics of your PM too.
