Aww I am sorry you are disappointed in your repair. I think it would be okay to express your concerns to the store manager. Maybe they can redo it or refund your repair fee? In any case, the new bottom looks beautiful! I wish you had done the entire leather on the bag, but the patina will even out soon.

Thxs [emoji4] the leather looks great, that I'm happy about. I don't know if taking them up on a redo is good though as it might compromise the 21 year old canvas. I can't see how they restitched using the old holes, as the stitch lines now run over the tip of the last flower and before it was stitched underneath it. So if they redo it I'm gonna be left with holes. I guess refunding my repair would be the solution, but then I am left feeling like I am with a fake looking bag- I know that's weird, but I guess that's the best option. I hope to get past it. I am just so sad about it.
I thought about redoing everything but the leather was in good condition and I just didn't want to add more to our landfill [emoji4], plus I would lose the date code as it's on the buckle and they wouldn't put a date code. I plan to tan the bottom when I get over this. I just can't find it in me to look at her much right now.
Thxs for trying to make me feel a little better! I do, it helped.

Joining the club with my vintage Montsouris PM mini backpack! The size is perfect for weekend errands and I love the length of the straps. I ended up selling my Palm Springs mini, as I actually prefer the Montsouris PM. The Montsouris PM holds more than the PS mini, and is easier to wear as a backpack due to its shorter straps. The PS mini works best as a cross-body, whereas the Montsouris PM is the perfect mini backpack, imho. For reference, I am 5'7" and wearing the Montsouris PM with the straps at their longest setting in the mod shot.

i agree with previous poster i would definitely take this back to the boutique.

Yes return, it would bother me. This size is a permanent collection so I wouldn't keep it.

Congrats!! I just got this too but can I ask if your bag has the same stitching by the strap?
Idk if I should return it or not [emoji85]

Hi guys, I was FINALLY able to snag another one of these. The stitching on the strap seems better but just wanted to get your opinions on it. Thank you!!

Here is my Black leather Epi Mabillon Backpack! I purchased this way back in the 90's! And the Leather is still really stiff! Due to lack of use! [emoji38] Showing my age here? :amuse:

My friend just gifted me hers, she's never used it . Would you mind sharing what fits inside? Or how you pack it usually? TIA [emoji16]

Should the leather soften a bit over time? I'm very unfamiliar with Epi leather.

Here's my contribution, the Bosphore Sac. Can't say enough positive things about the utility of this great looking pack: features include easy access outside pockets, full-length side pocket, spacious interior, canvas straps and vachetta handle.

Can't believe this was posted 10 years ago. Look at how popular it is now. Everyone andtheir mother is trying to hunt it down. The amazingness that is Louis Vuitton.

My Palm Springs PM for another travel day!

View attachment 3736545

I am toying with the idea of trading my PSM for the PM but worried the PM wouldn't be big enough to carry normal travel day items like a camera, bottle of water, toiletry 19 and fill size wallet. Do you think you could fit that in yours? and for reference would you mind sharing how tall you are? This looks like the perfect size on you!

Well my Montsouris GM backpack came back from a $384 repair.... I am totally disappointed in their lack of attention to details. I can overlook the black marks on my straps that it came back with but I am having a hard time overlooking that they left me with a crooked pattern on the bottom back. Originally it had 6 tips of the flowers on the bottom by the leather (I believe all vintage ones had perfectly aligned patterns showing the tips) now I have only 4 showing. I am so sad because this could have been avoided had the specialist took the time align it. The bag just looks fake to me now. I am not sure what my options are because I don't think they can re do this again without compromising the canvas. View attachment 3772780View attachment 3772781
It seems fake only to see a part more clear than others

ive noticed a few times today the palm springs mini in reverse has been place in cart and then it goes away completely from the US site. Since I stalk the site a lot from my desk at work, i tend to notice and I find it interesting that now its gone again along with the PS PM reverse bag.

I just purchased the palmspring PM a week ago. Have been going out with it a few times. The thing is i tried using it sling on 1 shoulder only and it tends to slip off. Is it because my shoulders are tiny ( i dun think so coz im a size 10), or the straps are not tightened enough ( third hole frm the top), or it tends to do so.

I have the same backpack and it does the same thing,I don't know why,I tried to shorten the strap to the second hole and it slides a little bit less
