Yes, that’s exactly what happened to mine and LV deemed it defective. I had it for a few years and all of a sudden a faint crease started to appear across the front of the flap. I wanted to replace it with a new one but the new ones made in USA had a thinner chain and the canvas was very flimsy and would cave in when not packed. My defective one was much more structured and seemed more substantial so I couldn’t pull the trigger on the newer one..I exchanged it for the crossette instead...but really disappointed with the quality of the newer version, as the Favorite design really is amazing so versatile.

I ended up selling my Fave in DE because I was too worried about the crease happening. Mine was a 2019 version and very flimsy. I purchased an organizer for it which helped with the structure and I never used the chain. I also didn’t care for the flap closure. If they made that same bag size with a zipper closure and longer adjustable strap I’d love it.

Wait, that's considered defective? I thought it was normal and a sign of my bag showing its age (7 years old). It only started to look like that within the last few months too. May I ask how long ago you went in to ask about it, and how old your bag was?

I don't really want to let go of it, since it was my first lv piece. However, I rarely use it nowadays.

I purchased my bag in 2016 and brought it back to the store in June of this year. Not sure if it had any bearing, but I also had paid to replace the metal plate on the front of the flap early in the year as mine was all scratched up, so it had just been serviced shortly before the crease appeared. The store offered me a credit towards another bag or an exchange of the bag. They had taken pictures and sent them to warranty to review. Once It was deemed defective I had 30 days to decide what to do.

I really struggled to give my bag back...it was my go to bag for a long time and who knows...it may end up back in my collection.

Hi everyone, a new and proud owner joins your club here’s my first lv bag a little worried about the quality after reading the last page but still willing to own it. The Favorite crosses the all boxes in terms of size, versatility (everyday/evening bag) and color - I don’t have a single brown bag in my collection! Really happy with the purchase and hope not to see any creases in the nearest future!


I did get a mono fav before this bag and the magnet on the mono was weak. In terms of canvas they feel the same - not sloppy soft, but they don’t hold the shape being empty as was mentioned above regarding the old made bags. In terms of color/shine - the mono bag looked more dull to me than the in DE. I wish I could hold the old and new made bags and see the difference, but for now I’m glad that I was at least able to choose between the two new ones. Thank you for letting me share my joy with you!

Thank you very much for the reply! There are a couple of bags I'm eyeing from the SS20 collection, so I guess I'll see how I feel about my favorite once those bags start to roll around.

My first LV purchase! Inwas torn between the favorite or croisette but the latter is a bit dressy for my style.

love this to bits though I wish it was more structured so the shape doesn’t get weird if it’s a bit bulky.

btw, I did a strap hack to create double shoulder straps. Mine is preloved and the part near the loop hole/slit is wrinkly so hopefully this will give it a little bit of rest lol.

I got my new Favorite MM in monogram today. I love the versatility of this bag. It can be worn with casual attire or dressed up for an evening out. However, where should this bag hit when worn crossbody? I don't think it's long enough on me. Also, what do you ladies think of the alignment on the bag? Maybe, I'm too picky. My old LV bags are all aligned perfectly. Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

YAY I get to join!! I have wanted this bag forever and finally was able to snag this bag online! There is a slight defect in the strap but hopefully won’t effect it much. I don’t plan on overstuffing the bag but the magnetic closing is a little concerning as it seems a little weak. Other than that it’s a very versatile bag so I’m gonna keep and enjoy it!

Still possible. They pop up several times a week. You just need to stalk the site. A lot pop up in the evening around 6:30pm, and 8:30-10:30pm EST.
