I believe the strap that comes with it is either 10mm or 12mm. The adjustable ebene strap is 16mm from what I remember. I just received the adjustable mono strap (also 16mm) to use with my new mono favorite and I like the width a lot. Goodluck!
They are not the same width. The 16mm is wider. I just checked mine. I have the 16mm mono adjustable strap. Here it is compared to the Favorite strap. I will say the width difference won’t be noticeable visually when wearing, but it will feel stiffer, and isn’t as comfortable as the smaller vachetta strap.
My SA found me a Favorite but when I went to the store yesterday to try it on for the first time, I couldn't get over how weak the magnetic closure is. What's been your experience with the flap - I keep reading people who complain their flap comes open randomly. Do your things fall out easily? Is there any way to make the bag more secure? If not for the closure, I would get it in a heartbeat...such a beautiful/versatile bag. FWIW, I probably wouldn't use it as a travel bag, just as everyday errand bag or nice dinner bag (without the long strap). I need to make a decision asap - help!
I think it depends on what you plan to put in it. It’s definitely one that you don’t want to overstuff if it has a weaker magnet. If you are ok with a key cles, mini PA, phone, and a card holder I think it’ll be fine. I’ve never had mine have the stuff fall out, but I only put those 4 things in. I wish they’d bring something similar to the Eva Clutch back.
I think it’s good as an everyday errand bag and it’s usually pretty secure but I also don’t overstuff my bag, I usually just have my phone, mini PA, Cles, and 6 key holder in there. I did have stuff fall out once but that’s because my bag flew around in my car and one of the flaps hit a corner and opened up the bag...but that was the only time. Other than that, I haven’t had an issue with the magnet. Also, you can use another magnet to make the favorite magnet stronger by “recharging” it. I do wish they made the magnet as strong as the one on the Vavin though. But otherwise, it’s a great bag, I love it so much that I got it in all three canvases
.The magnet on mine isnt weak until the bag bulges and becomes un even, then magent doesnt have a flat surface
Sharing my Favorite MMs w. the Felicie inserts I’d received a few months back - they really let me optimize the space in this bag, so glad I chose it over the Pochette Felicie!
Has anyone noticed on the current Fave MM DE bags that the cardboard type piece in the flap (where I'm guessing the magnet is attached) puts a line in your flap? Not the line/crease they talked about a couple years ago but this one is up about 2 - 2 1?2" from the bottom of the flap? I'll try to post a pic of mine when I get home so you know exactly what I am referring to? TIA!
Yes, that’s exactly what happened to mine and LV deemed it defective. I had it for a few years and all of a sudden a faint crease started to appear across the front of the flap. I wanted to replace it with a new one but the new ones made in USA had a thinner chain and the canvas was very flimsy and would cave in when not packed. My defective one was much more structured and seemed more substantial so I couldn’t pull the trigger on the newer one..I exchanged it for the crossette instead...but really disappointed with the quality of the newer version, as the Favorite design really is amazing so versatile.

Sorry I don’t have a better picture but you can see a slight wave in the flap along the top of the second row of the checkered pattern. It’s hard to see in the picture because its right along the the boarder of the row. You could also feel the wave in person but it was just starting to happen. I took it to the store as soon as it started to appear as I heard of waves/creases in the flap from other Favorite owners and was hoping that it could get fixed before it got too bad.
I think because of these issues LV may have started using a softer canvas for the bag. In my bag, there was a harder backing on the flap that I think may have contributed to the creasing while the flap’s magnet creates resistance or stress against the flap. It’s also likely why they don’t use a strong magnet on the bag as it would create additional stress to the thin flap.
My bag was much more stiffer and did not need to be stuffed it to hold its structure. So I was shocked when the new one came in and it was like a deflated pancake. When I put some items loosely in the new bag, the flap would indent/sag in the middle because it was so soft whereas regardless of what I put in my old bag, the flap would lie flat and straight across the top when closed.
I have to say I was also surprised that the new one seemed to use a slightly thinner chain. Felt like the new bag was overall a less substantial bag than the original. Such a shame since it truly was one of my favourites in my collection.
I think if you have one of the newer bags I would consider a bag organizer to help in keeping the structure more ridged...but you'll be sacrificing some precious space in an already small bag.
Wait, that's considered defective? I thought it was normal and a sign of my bag showing its age (7 years old). It only started to look like that within the last few months too. May I ask how long ago you went in to ask about it, and how old your bag was?
I don't really want to let go of it, since it was my first lv piece. However, I rarely use it nowadays.
