Wow, this is really shocking... I researched the Favorite for a long time before I bought it and it's only now I'm seeing people bring up the crease. I thought it was just the plate getting scratched.

I completely agree with everything you're saying. I would dread having to bring my bag into LV if it started to develop a real problem. When I first got my Neverfull they had to replace it within the first week because the glazing was peeling off.

I also brought the same bag in 6 months after that because one of my side straps was starting to wringkle in an unnatural way because the other side was totally fine. It was weird.

And when I got my Favorite the plate was scratched and they had to put a new one one (thank God I found the best protector ever and it can't scratch now.)

But my point is, I agree we spend thousands on this stuff and it's almost embarrassing to bring every bag you buy (well, not my new Speedy 30 de) into the store for some kind of complaint. All the complaints are legit! But it just takes away from the special experience and love of the bag and store.

I almost don't even want to see flaws in my bags because I will just start to go crazy and won't be happy.

I guess I feel at a loss for you with these bags. I pray I don't see my own worsen. Keep us updated on your customer service experience. Hopefully they will play nice and stand behind their quality.

Can you share what protector you use? I hope my favorite doesn't start creasing :(

Sure! It's called Xpel, it's actually a door guard sill that people use to keep from scratching their car when they get in and out.

Another TPF member told me she uses it, and I KNOW why! It is extremely durable, looks professional...actually looks invisible!

You need to cut to to fit your plate. You will probably have a few trial and errors like I did, but the role is huge. Also, once it's on, it's ON! It hasn't budged since September and looks perfect!

I'll add one more note to that...if your bag already has a scratched plate, take it into LV and they will replace it for a new one, FREE. Make sure you let your SA know you need the part replaced before hand because she might need to order it, like mine did.

Once it's replaced, do not use the bag until you put this stuff on!!!!

After you do, it's pretty worry free from there. It's actually a little thick (not in a bad way at all) and it doesn't budge! Well, it's made for the purpose that your heels don't scratch the paint on your car getting in and out!

The original TPF member also said she cuts pieces out to size for other bags that have plates, and even bags with feet! So smart!

Yup, it's the same! But it is important to wrap it the whole way around, because if you just cut enough to cover the plate, the edges will start to peel up.

Unfortunately If you buy the less expensive thinner tape, you won't be able to wrap it the whole way around. I know that's an expensive price, and I didn't even pay that! It was only $15 when I bought it, so it seems like the prices doubled! But maybe people are realizing that's a good product for our treasured bags and are ordering it! Not sure. But the more expensive kind is the only way you would be able to wrap it the whole way around.

Beautifully put!!!
My thoughts exactly!!!👍👍

I really cant stress enough that i dont get any kick out of being "that customer"...yetttt i cannot overlook blatant quality issues in purses costing this kind of money!!

I really feel cornered now...and unless the customer swrvice i receive for my bags is stellar, ill be one very wary, very disappointed LV customer!!😳😳

I love what you said...
finding these kind of defects and then doing the whole return/complain shebang kills the so called 'luxury' experience.
Instead of looking forward to visiting the boutique, like i used to , im beginning to dread it...
(Not to mention the embarrassment...)😰

Anyway...
Fingers crossed.

guys I need your help. I purchased the favorite mm in DE but I keep having second thoughts about it. I got the DE first, and then I went back to exchange for mono (bc I have no mono bags). and then I was worried about vachetta so I exchanged back for DE. now that I have DE I cant stop thinking about the mono. I have nothing in mono so I really wanted this one in it. im afraid to exchange again bc LV would kick me out LOL. what do I do?

I was on the same boat! I really only see myself carrying DE because of the coated leather and it being so care free but when I got my favorite pm I got in mono because I feel like the vachetta is so minimal (mostly just the strap) that I felt that if the strap ever patina-ed to much for my liking I could just purchase another strap. Plus personally the favorite isn't an every day bag for me so I know I will take care of the vachetta.

Oh dear, I feel you.

Well, you say you don't have any mono bags, so you have more than one DE?

I have two mono and one DE.

But I think it's important to know if you are buying bags to have a "variety" or if you really just prefer DE. Ask yourself this question. If you really want the mono, I would just get it...after tax it's over a grand, so it's really what you want with your money.

I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to return 3 times and I'm sure you won't be the last. I have the mono, but the DE is nice because it could appear to be a bit more dressy and DE always looks really extra nice with black (in my opinion).

Just be really nice to the sales associates and maybe a little apologetic. Not that you should be, but they will probably appreciate that you feel bad and in turn say "No, don't be sorry!" It's just the way the game is.

Most important question...have you used the bags at all? Because if you have they probably will resist the exchange if it appears used.

Hi there
If i were you , honestly id just keep what i have and save for the other one.
Thats pretty much it because ive been through the exact same thing!! 😊
I LOVED the favourite in all the prints, and it was impossible for me to decide.
DE is worry free and gorgeous, while mono is classic.
(DE looks beautiful with or without the gold chain while Mono to me, looked plain without the chain...)🤔

So, if you have no gripe with the favourite otherwise, get both.
Eventually
GLD😉

Is this removable? I only ask because on Amazon, some users have said when they used on their car (which it is intended for) it peeled the car paint. So I wonder if you needed to remove it after a while, will it chip the brass/strip it? I use clear contact paper, which is removable that I bought on Amazon and it worked for me. Over time I will have to change it as the contact paper gets scratchy after use, but it is removable.
As for creasing, I developed a slight one, so now when I use my bag, I make sure it's filled, and when I store it, I stand it up, not having any thing touching the sides, stuffed completely and I put an extra dustbag and bubble wrap between the magnetic flap and the bag to prevent the strong magnetic pull of the magnet and the flap. So far, the crease has seemed to disappear, as it was only very, very slight. Such high maintenance for a bag, sigh. But try this to prevent your bag from creasing. Hope this helps!

Hey, Kitty!

Yes, the stuff is removable! I got some air bubbles in the first time I applied it, and a month later I decided to put s new strip on. It's not difficult to take off! Highly recommend it.

I read about the way you store your bag and I am going to try that. This is how I am storing it now, what do you think?

I will defiantly start to stand it up. I just wonder how the bags don't develop a crease when they are stored in the store?
