You’re not going to believe this, but it was very, very busy

. There was a mad run on bags but I never saw anyone come to blows (but judging on the looks of some people’s faces, it came pretty close.)
(And waves to the fellow tPFers I saw there today - you all looked magnificent).
Local artist John Lopez was commissioned to create these metal sculptures of a buffalo cow and her calf. But look carefully. See how the artist has incorporated the art of Hermes? See the H locks and leathers? Isn’t that neat?

According to the store manager, this beautiful new store has the largest square footage of any Hermes boutique in the United States. Ready to wear, shoes, small leather goods, china, furniture, and bags are upstairs. Men’s, fine jewelry, bracelets, and scarves are downstairs. And, in an amazing bit of forward thinking, there is a little waiting area by the downstairs checkout with nice chairs and sofas. The perfect place to deposit your husbands while you shop, girls.

I was quite surprised but delighted to discover there IS a special scarf for the new offering. Not the Kermit Oliver designed Kleberg Conservation scarf that I discussed
here, but a reissue of Oliver’s Faune et Flore du Texas in a 70cm turquoise color way with a special banner that reads Houston 2015! I admit I was never much a fan of this design, but no way could I say no to this and the turquoise is beautiful.
