I saw three Buti bags in a trendy boutique a few days ago.
Two very small Kelly likes around...€500 and a replica of Birkin 30 in toile and leather ...€800.
I had a close look at the "B", it might pass for a H from afar but once you have it in your hands, the stitching says it all....Ordinary to say the least.[emoji35]
For €800 you can get a very well made genuine contemporary designer!

I don't know if I'd ever carry one but I also don't see these like I see a counterfeit Birkin, so I say buy one of you want one. I've also seen the "Valentino by Mario Valentio" brand (no it's not THAT Valentino; two completely different Valentinos) have copies of Birkin and Kelly bags too and they look a LOT worse than the Teddy Blake bags. At least these look decently made. Look at the new LV city steamer bags; they aren't exactly copies of Birkins but are the similar classic look of them.

The greatest of ironies- I was perusing tPF (Hermes forums, naturally) and a Teddy Blake ad popped up at the top of the site. I had to laugh. BTW- have any of you seen the youtube reveals of some ladies who post videos about their Teddy Blake bags? At least one is quoted on there as saying that Teddy Blake gave her the bag so she would so a video reveal about it. At least they're trying, I suppose... smh

I had not heard of Teddy Blake until it started popping up all over Youtube. As a PP said, they are very expensive for "inspired by" bags. I have two Mulberry bags and the rest are high street ones for carrying to work etc. I will never be able to afford Hermes unless I win the lottery! My favourite thing to do is to wait until I am on holiday in Spain/Italy and buy a non-branded, locally made leather bag that no-one back home would have.

I can afford a B or a K, but the biggest problem is, that I have never been offered one, and will probably never be. I've been trying for years, more than a decade actually. I've established history, developed rapport, yada yada yada, but to no avail. You name it, I've tried it. I don't want to buy through eBay or resellers and pay exorbitantly for them. So what to do? In desperation, since I really love the design of the B and K, and since Hermes doesn't want to sell these bags to me, Teddy Blake is an attractive option because it looks nicely made and has the design I love. I know it will never be as nice as the real thing. So, maybe teddy Blake is also for people who want the Hermes design, can afford Hermes, but is never given a chance by Hermes to purchase one. How about that? Just wanted to give another point of view.
Maybe these companies that are creating bags inspired by H, are just creating the supply, because clearly H is not meeting the demand.

These bags are direct copies of Hermes. And while there are no logos, it does not matter as much because Hermes logos are a very subtle part of the design.

I certainly understand that 99% of the world thinks spending the money required to purchase a Birkin or Kelly is ludicrous. IMO people who buy Teddy Blakes want others to think they are carrying the genuine article. The sad part is that anyone who knows Hermes, will know it's not.

IMO, when people purchase items that are so close to the original item, they are aiding and abetting theft of intellectual property. I work in the creative field and DH is an attorney; it's a logical position for me to have.

At the $300 to $500 price point, there are plenty of other options that do not include copyright infringement.

I don't get some of these comments about this bag. I just purchased ONE today! I LOVE the style & I am NOT into Hermes. I DON'T WANT anyone thinking it's a Birkin because that's not me. I'm glad people who "know Hermes" will know it's not!

I love the Louis Vuitton Petite Noe, which I have AND I have other bucket bags --- what's wrong with loving & wanting a "style". I'm a teacher & mother of 4. I cannot, NOR would I ever want to spend the type of money a Birkin costs. BUT, I do love the "style" just like I like the bucket bag style. As the Teddy Blake background discusses --- the design was manufactured WAY BEFORE Birkins were even created. I love Louis Vuitton bags --- Michael Kors has used some of the same "styles" as LV --- does it bother me, NO. Because there are many who cannot afford LV, but want quality & want the same type of style. What is wrong with that?? This bag I purchased IS NOT a Birkin --- it's similar as are many things in the fashion market. NOTHING wrong with that. I feel like so of the comments have been "judgmental" about a brand that provides most of us "little people" with a "style" that I could not otherwise afford from Hermes. So now we're "abetting theft" because we like a style??? WOW, I don't think that's fair IMO.

Well said!

I wonder how many customers fall by the h wayside because of poor custome service. When someone has the money and has spent money there and for the benefit of all doubt that sum hit h's magic number and is still not offered a b or k or Constance, there is no alternative for that customer. Personally, I feel empathy. Almost 3 years later I know the Gris t I ordered will not be delivered. Ask me how I feel. Hint: not elated. Would I purchase a fake? Who knows. Just saying we should not judge others for any reason on any issue. Put that energy toward playing something nice forward and make this a better world for all.

Yes, very well put.
I'm not trying to pass off anything with buying the bag. I just love the style. Isn't
I just googled it too 🙄

I'm a firm believer that if you cannot afford the real thing then buy another type of bag. Don't resort to counterfeits or replicas and try to pass them off. As for the "designer" he needs to actually design something and not copy someone else's work.
But if I understand correctly - Hermes didn't design this style! It was designed by another & they put their label on it.

I may never be able to afford a Birkin, but I would never bug a Teddy Blake personally. IMO, not worth it. I apologize for being a snob, but if I can't have the real Hermes, nothing is worth it.
I like the style, so if I can get the style in quality leather I'm going for it. I would NEVER, even if I had the money buy a Birkin, it's too damn expensive & I have children. I like to explore all types of things - so I ordered this bag last night & I'm excited to get it.

Interesting how many new members are posting how wonderful these bags are. Hmmmmm.
What does that mean?? I bought a Teddy Blake last night. I was looking for information & came across this. I always come to PF but have never posted. I think people should give their opinion about the bag, sure, but it's not right to make blanket statements about people who are buying them....because that's me. I personally NEVER said the bag was "wonderful". I bought it, again, literally last night & just don't like the idea saying that something is wrong with people who have bought it or that we've done something wrong. That's what I'm responding to.

I'm not contributing to anything wrong. I paid good money for a style bag I like, plain & simple. I buy LV's & their quality has gone down significantly over the years, so I wanted to try something different. I never have bought from a new brand. But I'm open-minded & like to try new things. Calling it a "replica" or a "fake" is not true --- this bag doesn't claim or try to be the B which is what a replica or a fake does. It has a much lower price point, it has a strap, and it has the "Buti" name on it. After I get it I will decide whether to keep it or not --- I'll do an honest review of it because I am all about sharing anything I learn about items, be it bags, baby items, etc. with others.

Thanks for this. I'm close to giving up the hunt, just feel dejected. I think that should be a new thread: how many customers fall by the h wayside. Funny though people will see me in Chanel, Celine, Goyard, Moynat etc, then wonder what they will think when they see me in a Teddy Blake. Lol. They might think the other bags are fakes too. But if I ever get a teddy Blake and just like the beginning of this thread, someone stops me and admires it and think it's a birkin, I would proudly correct her and tell her why I have that bag instead of a birkin/Kelly. I mean that's how I envision it. Will always go to an H store though in the hopes that one day... I'm just not optimistic about it anymore. I honestly don't know why H makes it so difficult to buy a bag. Are they worried the hype will die down and people lose interest in their bags? It can't be that they can't produce enough bags, that doesn't explain their screening system. Or are they just being snooty and only allow the right type of people to own these bags?
