I'm fascinated by this. I get that it is a different market, but it is a replica for $500+ dollars. That's still quite a bit for a bag for most people.

Reading the reviews on the website under the Birkin type bag, it appears some of the people buying might not no the difference. There are comments saying that they saw a celebrity carrying the bag in pictures for years and that they hoped theirs lasted as long - when it is in reality a completly different bag, brand,and quality level.

This seems to be targeting a Instagram model/stylist crowd in a perhaps misleading way.

I've never been one to wear knock-offs of anything because I like to know that I have the real deal. I wear/carry items for my pleasure.


That said, I'm sure there are those who like the pretense of luxury items without the expense. At least these are not counterfeit. They're like the cubic zirconia of handbags.

Nah. Either go for the real thing, whatever it may be, or choose something else entirely. This is not design, this is imitation, and it seems obvious that the intention of this manufacturer is that his bags be mistaken for Hermes. Legal though they may be, I agree with Nikki. Not cool.

It's really surprising to me that they can sell these bags.
Isn't the shape protected somehow? It's as if the designer is intentionally trying to copy Hermes.

When you think about it, how many ladies can afford a contemporary designer bag ?
Let alone a Hermès K or B?
Very very few in my opinion.
TPF is a microcosm.
Some women are in love with a design, they won't pretend they carry the real thing, they will just be happy to wear a lovely bag without spending what would represent one year's salary or more....in most places in the world.
Carrying a counterfeit is illegal in my country, carrying a copy is not.

I'm a firm believer that if you cannot afford the real thing then buy another type of bag. Don't resort to counterfeits or replicas and try to pass them off. As for the "designer" he needs to actually design something and not copy someone else's work.

Actually, I completely agree with this, and I would never want to shame someone who can't--or doesn't--choose to pay Hermes prices. I just think carrying straight-up dupes--legal or not--is disrespectful to the original designer. Of course there is nothing wrong with not carrying a pricey designer bag. But there are plenty of Birkin-esque totes that aren't flagrant copies. I would discourage people from supporting those who imitate instead of design.

Agree completely. This is a microcosm most people cannot even imagine.

If someone wants a Birkin- or Kelly-like shape, they can have it with these kinds of knockoffs at a price they can afford, just like any other knockoff of any kind of style. Isn't that better than carrying a replica? Just saying "I want this style of bag because I think it's beautiful" seems way better IMO than carrying a counterfeit (and counterfeit H is usually as expensive than these bags, often much more).

Unfortunately if you ARE into Hermès, what they look most like are bad fakes, which is too bad.

I guess I just don't see how this is worse than Kwanpen, except at a much lower price point.

I did a search on this bag on the internet and it came up with a lot of Youtube videos that did reviews on this bag.... From the videos, it appears that many people got this bag for free to be reviewed on Instagram, Youtube, etc....

I wonder if this is the same as the rather suspicious looking Kellys around lately...

These bags are direct copies of Hermes. And while there are no logos, it does not matter as much because Hermes logos are a very subtle part of the design.

I certainly understand that 99% of the world thinks spending the money required to purchase a Birkin or Kelly is ludicrous. IMO people who buy Teddy Blakes want others to think they are carrying the genuine article. The sad part is that anyone who knows Hermes, will know it's not.

IMO, when people purchase items that are so close to the original item, they are aiding and abetting theft of intellectual property. I work in the creative field and DH is an attorney; it's a logical position for me to have.

At the $300 to $500 price point, there are plenty of other options that do not include copyright infringement.
