I think it’s harder to pull off fake PR relationships these days, especially if they’re longer term. But I do think they happen (Tom Cruise comes to mind). There are just too many cameras around and people willing to compromise the secret for a small amount of money.

One pairing that comes to mind is Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. I gave that one the side eye at first. Even my friend was 100% convinced for the longest time that they were a PR couple. But they’re married now and it’s gone on far too long to be fake, so strange pairings can happen.

I just don’t see Taylor and Travis and their respective families being convincing enough actors to fake it for this long. I think initially his interest in her may have been motivated by how it could elevate his profile but I do think their relationship has been legitimate.

It would have been impossible for her side to predict how it would elevate her profile so why would she bother with all that work in the middle of a grueling tour? She didn't need him and there really wasn’t anything in it for her at the onset.

If they break up I feel it’s because their personalities are not a good match.

Nah, it is totally doable. Everyone is invested into keeping the secret.
There are still lavender marriages going on in 2024.
And not only in entertainment.

I don’t think it’s very common or as necessary as it used to be.

Tom Cruise is definitely a lavender relationship participant, though. But he’s one of those well-known secrets in Hollywood and I just think instead of being real he just keeps dancing the jig.

For most of these people, all they have to do is call Backgrid for a pap stroll or do something a tiny bit scandalous to get in the news. Very few need to invest time and drag friends and family into a fake relationship that lasts longer than a month or so.

The only ones right now I give side eye to are Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper. They’ve been at it for a while but it doesn’t seem legit to me. I can’t put my finger on why.

Taylor Swift does not need a fake relationship for attention. Especially to have the extra work and distraction in the middle of a huge tour. So I feel these two are legit even if I don’t think personality and intellectually they are an ideal pairing.

Since I know very little about TS, you are probably right. But those two together do not feel organic nor well suited.
It is probably super difficult for her to find a partner.
Somehow, I don’t see them lasting. What do you think?

I don’t see them lasting long term.

They’re both at that age where they’re probably both ready to settle into a relationship for a while, marriage and what not. They both seem traditional enough to get married at this juncture of their lives. An engagement announcement wouldn’t surprise me. Her tour is going to wrap up in a few months, football will end early next year.

Being together full-time will be the true test for them. Not convinced I see them making it to the altar but hoping they will because I’m a sucker for a celebrity wedding!

But I think his ego will suffer if he were to retire. He comes off as needing a lot of attention and I’m not sure he could handle taking a back seat to her, being a stay at home dad, and following her around like the family dog. The football podcast isn’t the same as being a star player in the NFL and his attempts to break into acting don’t seem to be working out.

This. She’ll finish the tour first. She is 34 and while she still has plenty of time, she has to be thinking about it, especially if she wants more than one. If they are still getting along well by the end of football season in February, look for a wedding then pregnancy announcement sometime next year.

I don’t necessarily see the relationship lasting forever but they both seem like marriage people.
