I bought my Tate/Thames GM on it's very first day arriving to the boutique which will be 2 years this October and I still love this bag. I too was considering the Hampstead but the open top just turned me off too much.
This is my work horse bag and I just love it so much and I think it is at a great price point for a roomy zip top shoulder bag and I am surprise that it is still not that popular especially when it is very similar to the Galliera and it seems every single person out there wants the Galliera in damier.

Do you have a few more pics of your Thames GM and with stuff in it? I think it's a capacity concern. I like the Thames a lot, but it's more narrow, so seems like it doesn't hold as much stuff?

on Speedy 30, it will hold a magazine (folded), 2 diaper pouches, white coupon book, notebook, red EPI billfold wallet, grenade EPI coin wallet, mono pochette accessory, water bottle, greyish camera pouch, Tylenol bottle and Tic-Tac.

I agree - with the Galliera unavailable in Ebene it is surprising the Thames is not more popular. I could have actually SO the Galliera in Damier Ebene, but after trying both on I liked the Thames much more. I love that I don't see myself coming and going, and it's good to hear that after two years you still love yours!!

At first I thought I wanted the Hampstead MM, but decided it was too much like some of my other LV styles. I really like the Thames but I'm not sure if the PM is bug enough. I need it to fit my pouchette, insolite wallet, iphone and my kids tidbits. Any thoughts on which size would be best? Thanks to any and all who take time to help.

It sounds like the GM would fit your needs better; it's roomy without being oversized. I carry my pouchette, Emilie wallet, Blackberry, eyeglass case and keys with room to spare. Good luck deciding!

I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents about the PM size. It works very well for me. I have one and can fit quite a bit in there. It all depends on how much you like to loot around.
I can fit a Sarah Wallet, Mini Pochette, Blackberry, iPod Touch, tissues, and a camera.

I just got mine and noticed the same thing..thought it was a defect but it looks like the bag style.
