Earlier this year,(I don't know if they are still on that site) shopintuition.com had what is called "Target Couture" that knocked off the Louis Vuitton Global Trunk bags. Not pretty sight.

I do not own one of these, HOWEVER...I think it is a great option for someone that wants a "now" looking bag and that is all they can afford...Im sure there are plenty of women that are not as lucky as some of us!! Be gentle gals!!!

I agree with the posts about it being okay. Many, or MOST, people can't or don't want to afford pricey bags, and probably don't even know the difference anyway. Most of the people I know don't even know or care about handbag designs. The people who love bags know what is real and what is fake or "inspired" so I don't think it really matters that much. Different things have different values to people!!

I agree that there's nothing wrong with inspired bags, since I think people should be able to express their personal style at a reasonable price, I've just had some miserable experiences with the quality of Target bags, and seen these MJ bags in particular simply fall apart. When I was in college I figured I couldn't afford better quality, when really I was spending a small fortune on sh*tty bags that fall apart in a few weeks. No good! I could have saved that money and bought Coach! I just hate seeing people make the same mistake. :p

I guess we've all had different expierences with Target bags. I've always had good expierences with them-I think only one bag I've bought from Target has fallen apart on me.

As for those inspired bags, I like the MJ and the YSL (that's the Muse, right?). I actually was thinking about picking up the MJ the last time I was at Target. I don't like the Coach and Chloe though-those are ugly.

I think with a Target bag you know you're getting what you pay for  I think the rule of thumb according to cost per wear is that you should try not to spend more than $2 per wear. So a $12 bag that lasts for 6 outings is a good value. If it lasts for more than that, it's a great value. A $1200 bag, though, you've got to REALLY want to wear that bag for awhile to get an equivalent cost per wear. With trendy little bags and clutches I'd rather go cheap - I probably only carry them a couple times a month anyway and usually to martini bars or restaurants, places where they could get splashed on etc. I picked up a couple of $7 Target clutches for this purpose. I don't mind that they're plastic - easier to clean!

I'm one of those gals whose budget is more Target than Hermes, so I'm happy to find cute options at Target! That way I can invest my purse money in a few nice, classic bags and still have cute and trendy bags in my wardrobe as well.
