ahhh, wonder why.

Because the Yacht-Master bezel is actually a functioning, rotatable bezel (bidirectional), so the numeric markers are necessary for timing functions. I actually use mine to time things, as well as for date and time.

The pre-owned Rolex that you posted is an older ladies' model, and very small. I have heard some questionable things about that jeweler, and I'm not sure they are even an authorized dealer, so check around before you buy if you decide you like that model.

If you just want a pretty watch, get whatever you like! I got tired of having to replace my watches every couple of years, and I consider my watch a tool that I can use for many years, so I paid the $$$ for Rolex.

Among the ones you posted, I like this one the most, I also am tired of the "liks" this is classy, elegant and understaed.

Great Thread. I have a TAG Formula 1 MOP on my "to get" list this year. I cannot wait. It's the perfect balance of sporty, classy, blingy for me. I have never owned a TAG but my husband has one and loves it. Good Luck with your decision.

Since you like blingy watches and lean towards Tag, have you considered the Formula 1 Glamour Diamonds? It's bigger than the Aquaracer and cheaper. You can always go for the steel bracelet and order the nizza or rubber strap to interchange. There are lots of colours to choose from, makes it even more versatile.

I have this one...

and just bought a new white strap as well as a metal bracelet for it!! Love it and I get tons of compliments on this watch... :smile1:

I've been on some watch forums and some of those people don't even like Rolex because they feel the watches are over-exposed.

You can never win with anyone but yourself.

FWIW, I like Tags!

I like this Rolex . . . why is it so inexpensive? Replacement value is $10k more?
I mean, I know it's preowned, but I thought they held their value more. . . no?

It's not in original condition:

Refinished dial, hits the resale value
Possibly not original Rolex bracelet--appraisal doesn't say "original," definitely hits resale

Plus, it's automatic and the smallest dial size of Datejust.[/QUOTE]
ahh, I see, thanks!

I'm not looking to buy a resale or from that dealer anyhow, but was curious about why the price was so low.

Swanky, can you change the bracelet part of your watch? Maybe you can just replace the link bracelet with a different type. If not, I really like Tag Carrera.

I didn't realize we had so many owners of Tag watches here. Maybe we should start a "Post your Tag Heuer watches here" thread. :D

nah, I love it but I want another one! LOL! :shame:

wow, I've had 2 batteries in 8.5 yrs and had my watch back both times within 2 weeks :s That's weird it took them so long.
I wear it often enough to get an automatic and not 'lose time' so I'd be happy w/ auto or quartz.

I hope to pop into a store today and try some on.

Swanky - this is the exact watch that I have - the last picture you posted and I love it. The mop is beautiful and the diamonds are pretty. I love the automatic, except I do change my watch when I am in the mood for a change and then it only holds time for about 36 hours. To me that is not that big of a deal to reset the time. Hubby's TAG is a quartz and the jeweler actually sends it to TAG for battery replacement. His first battery just died (after three years) and he was without that watch for about five weeks. I think I will stick with the automatics. You really should check out the Michele watches too (Nordstrom, Neimans and Saks all sell them). I just bought the large Urban and it has 1 ct in diamonds(this is not an everyday watch for me as the face is quite large - 39mm). I bought it with a stainless bracelet and a black alagator band for $2600. The Carrera below has .6 ct I think. I think the MSRP for the TAG is $4100 but most of the jewelry stores will mark that price down. I think I paid around $3800 for mine which included a lifetime warranty. The Omega that you are looking at is pretty too and I have never heard anything bad about them. I too keep the things that I buy so I really don't care about resale value.

ep.yimg.com/ca/I/movadobaby_2092_916997728 Not sure why the photo didn't post - it was the last TAG that you posted.

Swanky, I have the Aqua Terra and love it! When shopping around for this watch, I tried on some Tags and the bracelet on the Aqua Terra just felt more substantial and heavier to me. I wear a lot of black/gray and get compliments on this watch quite frequently...I think it would look lovely with the bling you want. Sorry if the pics look a bit cloudy, camera is broken and these were taken with my Blackberry.

On a sidenote, there were a lot of older people on the cruise I was just on that were snapping up Tag watches for their families. I think both brands can be workhorses, my boyfriend has had his Omega for just over 7 years and has had no problems with it. IMO, the Omega just looked and felt better than a Tag, but like everyone said, get what you like better!

I have this one too! :) I love the feel and weight of this watch. Feels very luxurious for some reason.

I will probably get flamed for saying this, but the jeweler who I bought the Omega from had me try on Rolex's too and the bracelet felt cheaper than my Omega!

Swanky, saw the Aqua Terra with diamonds when I bought my watch and it was very pretty. The woman was very insistent that I walk around with each watch on instead of just standing and staring at it, in order to get a feel for how it felt on the wrist. I'm excited to see what you get when you make a decision :)

I was sad they only carried Rolex  I know 8 yrs ago they're carried Baume, and Concord at least too.
I'm dying to try on that Omega and those TH's!
I got very distracted in there, ended up trying on a 6 crt solitaire among other things. . . I'm so ADD in a jewelry store :shame:
The good news is I was still happy w/ my current solitaire size, LOL!
