Yeah, I think Rolex is out considering I want a little bling on it. Since I'm not a big watch buff, I'm not interested in spending that kind of $ on a watch.
This is what I've been wearing, and the link bracelet looks dated to me. . . I'm tired of it.

I like this Rolex . . . why is it so inexpensive? Replacement value is $10k more?
I mean, I know it's preowned, but I thought they held their value more. . . no?

It's not in original condition:

Refinished dial, hits the resale value
Possibly not original Rolex bracelet--appraisal doesn't say "original," definitely hits resale

Plus, it's automatic and the smallest dial size of Datejust.

Swanky, can you change the bracelet part of your watch? Maybe you can just replace the link bracelet with a different type. If not, I really like Tag Carrera.

I didn't realize we had so many owners of Tag watches here. Maybe we should start a "Post your Tag Heuer watches here" thread. :D

I spend a lot on jewelry and bags. I have a Rado and a Tag, and I have been thrilled with the Tag Link, black mother of pearl face with diamond bezel and markers, the price about 2 years ago was discounted on Amazon from $3600 to $2400. I wouldn't trade it.

Swanky - this is the exact watch that I have - the last picture you posted and I love it. The mop is beautiful and the diamonds are pretty. I love the automatic, except I do change my watch when I am in the mood for a change and then it only holds time for about 36 hours. To me that is not that big of a deal to reset the time. Hubby's TAG is a quartz and the jeweler actually sends it to TAG for battery replacement. His first battery just died (after three years) and he was without that watch for about five weeks. I think I will stick with the automatics. You really should check out the Michele watches too (Nordstrom, Neimans and Saks all sell them). I just bought the large Urban and it has 1 ct in diamonds(this is not an everyday watch for me as the face is quite large - 39mm). I bought it with a stainless bracelet and a black alagator band for $2600. The Carrera below has .6 ct I think. I think the MSRP for the TAG is $4100 but most of the jewelry stores will mark that price down. I think I paid around $3800 for mine which included a lifetime warranty. The Omega that you are looking at is pretty too and I have never heard anything bad about them. I too keep the things that I buy so I really don't care about resale value.

ep.yimg.com/ca/I/movadobaby_2092_916997728 Not sure why the photo didn't post - it was the last TAG that you posted.

Swanky - I never owned a Tag because I'm not drawn to them. Comparing a Omega and Rolex, I would go for an Omega Aqua Terra (I would like to stress the Quartz model) as I hate the thought (and the action) of winding watches, unless you get a watch winder.

The most common problem about automatic watches is accuracy, as time goes by, you'll lose a few minutes. Quartz is the most accurate. You don't need to send it for servicing like an automatic watch, just change the battery. According to my DH (who loves comparing every single thing), Omega make better watches. I have both Omega Constellation My Choice and Rolex Lady Datejust. Verdict, I wear the Omega more. Also DH kept reminding me that James Bond used to wear Rolex until he switches to Omega...LOL! The hardcore watch forums also mention that Omega is a better made watch compared to Rolex.

At the end of the day, buy what you love because to me a watch only tells time! Also try on both the Omega Aqua Terra and Tag Heuer Aquaracer, if you are used to wearing heavier watches, you'll find the Aquaracer too light and feels like a toy watch. The Aqua Terra is more solid.

Since you like blingy watches and lean towards Tag, have you considered the Formula 1 Glamour Diamonds? It's bigger than the Aquaracer and cheaper. You can always go for the steel bracelet and order the nizza or rubber strap to interchange. There are lots of colours to choose from, makes it even more versatile.

I have a Tag Link Stainless Steel w/ Pink MOP face & Diamond Markers and, to me, it is perfect! My husband surprised me with it, and I haven't seen anyone wear one quite like it. I agree with the others: if you love Tag, get a Tag!
(my DH has several watches, but his Tag Link is also his fav...)
With watches, I have to go with what is comfortable on my wrist.
I remember several years back when I really wanted and had to have a Michele Deco diamond watch, and when I finally got it, it was so uncomfortable on my wrist that I returned it within a week.
Go with what YOU love and what feels comfy!!!
Here is my beauty~

Here is another idea since you like bling. Chopard makes great watches although spendy. This is one of my favorite. With the diamond bezel you would pay about $15K, without it would be about $5K.
