The author, Ramesh Thakur, has other...interesting ... beliefs. Such as advocating for prosecuting doctors and other health care workers for COVID restrictions, denying climate change and apparently questioning the 2020 US election results.
I do not know Ramesh Thakur, and I do not know what he has written about other things.
What he has written in his article about the Hussey/Fulani case is sensible and logical.

Here the link to his article:

The Palace punishes a loyal aide to appease an agenda-driven activist

An analogy:

Let's say I had Scottish ancestors and now go to some party dressed up in a fake Scottish kilt and a name badge that says: "Hamish McGregor."
But when somebody asks out of interest: "Which part of Scotland is your family from?" then I am deeply offended and insulted and "traumatized".
And I cry: "Lady! I am German! Born and bred in Niederschäffolsheim!"
And then I go on twitter and make the rounds on lots of TV shows and tell everybody who wants to hear it or not how deeply offended I am.

:)

As I mentioned in an earlier post, before I had to put the kettle on and have copious cups of tea, I’m in a mixed marriage (over 30 yrs), have a 13-letter difficult to pronounce surname. I can hardly say it myself. I get asked constantly how I pronounce it, where does it come from - I just reply laughingly that it is grounds for divorce. When I do finally get my name out correctly & with the other person also attempting, and I say where it is from, a pleasant conversation ensues. I have been asked (intrusively), and persistently on occasion, how and where we met. My husband too gets “where do you come from, really?” I just bat it all off and think how gauche. And have another cup of tea. Hope cups of tea are not off topic.

Ah, the good old “she deserved it because of what she was wearing and how she was acting” defense.

I asked someone where they were from a few years ago and he told me it was offensive. While it doesn’t bother me at all, I listened to what he said and try to refrain from asking now (though I sometimes forget). I don’t understand why some people would just rather insist that their way is the correct way, versus just slightly altering their behavior. This whole situation would (probably) look different if Ms. Hussey hadn’t just badgered her with the question over and over.

IMO the idea that God made someone better than everyone else because of who they’re born to has no place in modern times.
yes, actually any time- modern or medieval,, and any time zone, just because it was once accepted doesn't make it right.

reading this thread is very sad, people just refusing to see both sides... IMO it means institutionalized racism is still in full effect, so much so we do not see our own actions, despite condemning it 'racism' because it is a bad thing, and not even seeing microaggressions of our own actions perhaps-how do you expect for the world to be better for the children of the future.

people on this thread keep giving weird analogies they believe to be the same... entirely different and still not recognizing what is there and thus giving TW even more ammunition ... smh
