Hawaii packing!

Finally back from a week in Hawaii and not fully adjusted back to LA time.

So here's my packing list:

Not pictured are my gym clothes for hiking, and the usual pjs and undies.

I also bought a dress and wore it on the trip.
When we landed, my flight clothes were so hot, I changed right away. And then went to buy a new dress. Lol.

Since I didn't go hiking as planned, the sneakers were not used beyond the first flight, nor were the gym clothes. The raincoat that my family recommended was also not used because it didn't rain hard enough for me to want to use it.

All of this fit in a medium packing cube, or half in my hat plus a small packing cube lol.

The LC neo was both a city bag and my personal item. The Mickey card case went in the Pochette Felicie with my phone. Both the LC Neo and the Felicie are my favorite travel pieces. The Neo DBF can carry since it's a good size on both of us, in a neutral color. The Felicie is enough of a statement to show I'm serious about shopping, but small enough to hide and not be obvious.

The London LC was brought just in case but I didn't use it. Everything fit into the checked suitcase and the laundry duffle.

I like that there was so much color in your bag! If you wore most of it you packed well. Can we see the dress you bought?

I like that I used everything, I think I've gotten more efficient in my packing.

It was an inexpensive Nanette Nanette Lenore dress for $35.

I'm short so this comes to like a midi length for me and it was so light to wear! Perfect for the hot weather.

But the lightness of the fabric meant Marylin Monroe moments, so I was glad to wear shorts under in case of strong breezes[emoji23]

It's lovely! Lucky you! I sometimes wish dresses were cut longer or I was shorter, because I would actually like them going over the knees. This one is perfect and I love the colors!

Dresses cut longer would be better than being short for sure! Haha. There are instances where even petite cut is long on me.

But I am trying to make use of my new accessories.





So I've been wearing my Ferragamo headbands.

Next I'll work on wearing my new pearls.

In preparation of my no shopping for clothes year (2018!) I'm wanting to ensure I have what is needed for the next year.

I am still looking for black work heels, since I returned the Ferragamos. They just didn't feel right, and my size was sold out so I couldn't exchange it. Plus I felt I could find a better deal.

I'd like a black blouse, similar to the Ann Taylor tees I've been wearing, but in standard office blousey material.

Maybe one black or dark colored skirt?

New jeans would be fantastic. Lol
But it's taken me so long to find the AG I wear. And they're not consistent in size so I can't just go buy new AG. [emoji31]

I don't need sweaters, dresses, or outerwear. No more tee shirts, nothing needed for travel in hot or cold climates. No sneakers or boots.

I will allow myself to buy SLGs and bag charms next year. Debating if accessories will be ok or not ok for next year. I do own a lot of accessories, but I also do need to slim it down this year. Might look into upgrading.

Bake, I'm a little late to the discussion, but is your ban on shopping all inclusive, gym clothes, PJs, under garments, etc? Or just new "nonessential" stuff? Either way I think that's a fantastic goal. I'm trying hard to not buy shoes. So far this year only one pair of Gianvito Rossi's, and those at 50% off. It would be so interesting to tell oneself "no more clothes for XXX time". Almost a relief in some ways.

Mostly non-essentials.
If my gym clothes, undergarments, and pjs wear out, I need those lol.

But I don't need shoes, work clothes, travel clothes, dress clothes. Unless someone wants me at a black tie event haha.

I'm even going on a bag ban for the year.

Figuring out more details on it though, I just really want to use my stuff.

DBF is an enabler!

We went to target to just get snacks for the bbqs we're attending, and he let me look around.

He should know to not let me look around [emoji85]



He bought me this skirt because he thought it was cool for $20. And I'm not going to say no.

I better get him on board with my ban or next year will be insanely difficult.


But I got a cute skirt! [emoji23]

Lol after I said no tees, I hated every blouse I came across. From Armani to Ann Taylor and everywhere in between.

The Ann Taylor blouses I am fond of wearing are one fabric throughout.

Now everyone is doing mixed media, and it bothers me that any part of a blouse is sheer. Can't have excess fabric on the bust either.

So I ended up getting my more favored Burberry tee, but in a neutral navy color. I figured, if I had to dress up, I still have the more dressy blouses. But on a day to day basis, tees work.

I also got a new jacket in a sweater like material from Jigsaw.




Also got this, as it's been a wishlist item for awhile. I kept getting the non classic ones (which I ultimately sold) but wanted the more classic style:


Bloomingdales had a promotion this weekend, so all the gift cards I accumulated from my orders, maybe I can get one more tee or find that last dark colored skirt I'd like for my wardrobe.

Not feeling to buy jeans right now, not when I have to lose weight. [emoji28] so I might hold off on that purchase.

A last pair of dark colored shoes would be fantastic.

Though, I am loving these Charlotte Olympia flats!


Completely impractical, but oh so adorable. I probably won't get them, unless I manage a sale score. Only if they were leather.


In summary:
One jacket, one coat, one tee came in after yesterday's skirt, and Friday's dress (‍♀️ what is happening?! Lol)

Still wanting:
Dark skirt
Dark shoes
Black tee
