Oh my, I just read through this whole thread and as I did I became nervous that it would end bad i.e. that they would think YOU did this and then not do a return

Perhaps someone removed the bales to "authenticate" a fake? I know once I see a good pic of the proper bales I just assume a bag is authentic. Very scary.

I wondered this very same thing. The fakers have to either be buying the bags or borrowing them in order to duplicate.

I am so glad to read that you were able to exchange the bag with no hassles.

That being said, I would never purchase another high-end bag from that location. Someone had to accept the bag with modified strap as a return (shouldn't have happened post-alteration), and then they sold it to you like it was any other bag (again - shouldn't have happened!!).

I don't claim to be an expert; but with my limited experience even I can tell that something is amiss with the first bag. I guess I could work there, no problem!!

I just did my morning troll on ebay, I found this listing. And I remembered this thread.

The bag seems authentic. But has a long sewn stap like OP's one. I think somebody screwed up with NM.

The OP lives in New Jersey and that seller is in FL so there's no relation to the bag. Not really sure what you meant by "somebody screwed up with NM."
