Seems like someone bought the bag, took off the strap and had this one sewn on and returned it. Maybe they just needed a replacement strap. Very fishy. I would take it back.

I have a black PT from 09 but mine is SGH and it has the regular strap. I have seen rh black pts and have never seen one look like that. I would return it, and maybe even contact a bal boutique and enquire about this.

First of all....thank you so much to everyone who helped me out with this. :tpfrox: You are the best. I ran back over to NM this morning and my sa wasn't there. The other sa looked at it and gave me the same story about how that is the new style. I told her I still wanted to return it and she said no problem. Then I explained that it looked like someone had tampered with it. She found another one on the floor with the exact same style number...and the correct shoulder strap. She returned mine (:okay:) and said she was going to pull the bag aside to show the manager. Then....she told me that the new velo (that has the longer strap i was looking for) arrived this am!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I am a happy girl!!!!

I'm SO VERY GLAD they didn't mess with you. I'd be afraid they accuse ME of messing with the strap.

Does that mean you got the Velo and the black PT?!

Yayyyyy!! So glad you got that handled correctly. They should have had a clue when they saw the exact same bag with the CORRECT strap.

What color Velo did you get??? I have a Black and an Outremer is on the way!! I LOVE the VELO! :yahoo:

So glad this worked out for you! I just read this whole thread like I was reading a murder mystery, LOL. Thanks for keeping us updated. When you go back to Neiman's, maybe you can find out what the manager had to say. I certainly wouldn't want a bag without the strap being removable, so I do hope this is not a new thing with Bal.

Me too. This is my fear as well. Seriously hope they aren't considering getting rid of the bales at the end caus that would just kill me!

I really think this was just someone who returned a bag that was altered. I doubt that it is a new Bal trend, since none of the other new bags are like that. This was just someone scamming NM and the SA's didn't recognize it and they put the bag back onto the floor. Luckily you didn't get stuck with it.

Now, Let us see the bag that you came home with! Was it a Velo or did you stick with the Part-time?
