yeah, that's definitely not rust. i had some of that along one seam for one of my MBMJ (not MJ collection) bags. Mine wasn't too big so I kind of just gently scratched at it with my finger nail. Most of it is gone & luckily mine was at the bottom of my bag so I generally try to avoid thinking about it.
