Quick question, so if you mailed it back and not return to the store you wont be flagged?
I’m not exactly sure but that is what the store SA suggested. I’m going to call customer service before I send back. I guess I could try to sell to fashionphile or something, but that seems silly. What a hassle! They were just delivered Friday and no multiples of anything, and I love the one in keeping. I’ll let you know what I find out.

I'm in love with this new collection! While I personally wish the monogram would be a tad bit smaller, the cream/saffron and rosebud ombre colorways on the Empreinte leather are to die for. Does anyone know what the little extra leather tab is for on the Marshmallow? The site description mentions the S-lock allowing for short shoulder carry, but I can't seem to find any pictures for shoulder carry that doesn't require the removable leather-chain strap...

I’ll take another picture on the shortest length and post it tomorrow. I also ordered the Bandouliere in Mist to see if that would be a better option. (But this is making it quite a pricey bag)

I got flagged a couple years ago and had no idea they would do that! I purchased and exchanged 3 bags from my local store (not used, just wanted to try them at home). The next time I went in, they told me I was flagged and would no longer sell to me for a time period. I was shocked! (And my feelings were hurt as I’m a very good customer overall.) I stayed away for a year and acct is no longer flagged. Reached out to my SA yesterday about my BTP returns and she said 3 is the norm to get flagged and suggested I mail them in, rather than in-store return.
Hope it works out. This is news to me too. Let us know what cs says tomorrow.
I get that they need to try to do something to stop counterfeiters and resellers, but with increasing quality issues plus more distance sales I feel like they should be a little more accommodating. Granted, they’re nowhere near Chanel-level quality problems just yet, but you still have to inspect everything so carefully. In-store it’s less of an issue because you can just have them pull more out of the back until you find one you’re satisfied with, but with online/distance it’s such a gamble. If you sell someone a janky product but they’ll get flagged for returning it, what choice do they have but to sell it if they don’t want to be stuck with it?! And that just worsens the problem.
I know this is getting off topic but really? chanel quality issues are worse than lv? I’m just shocked bc I find lv quality issues being pretty bad already haha didn’t think it could be any worse lol

Oh, absolutely. I buy Chanel via text mostly because I don't live close to a boutique, so since I can't inspect things prior to purchase I've had a number of issues. Some doozies from over the years:
  • A GST with a screw that literally fell out three months after I bought it
  • A Boy WOC with a visibly lopsided flap
  • A seasonal bag where an exterior snap LITERALLY fell off the third time I used it. When I sent it to be repaired, they put the new one in lopsided and at an angle . . .
  • A bag with engraved grommets where one was visibly upside down
  • A Coco handle with corner wear, still with tags on
  • A seasonal tote that somehow managed to get saggy corners without ever being used, lying in its box horizontally
  • Multiple "new" bags with deep scratches in hardware
Clearly I'm insane because I keep buying from them.

To bring things back on-topic, I have noticed a couple of little issues with my By the Pool pieces, like the black dots on my Keepall that I posted a pic of earlier, a small scratch on some vachetta on a Speedy, and some canvas that isn't perfectly aligned on a Neverfull (this one is just me being obsessive). They annoy me a little, but they're pretty minor and I'm also just a very picky person. That said, I kind of hate that I'm so used to having to give every. single. piece. my own 100-point inspection that I even noticed them. I wish that we could just buy bags that we could take out of the box and start using without ever having to think, Is the glazing cracked? Is that a broken clasp?, etc.

@LVFloridagirl so I just tried to purchase something in store but turns out my account is now flagged from my online purchases! My CA said if I can still buy it on line then I should go ahead and do that instead . What a bummer, they had everything I wanted in store too. Now I have the stalk the website and I may or may not get a cancellation email, sigh.
Does anyone know if I call CS would they be able to do anything?

Thanks for the detailed response! I had no idea. Well my mind set is prepared for some minor BTP flaws, I guess that’s better than expecting a flawless bag right?

Flagged for what? For too many online purchases? :whut: So they won't allow you to purchase in-store for over purchasing online, but yet you can still purchase online? lol I get that the restrictions are part of the crusade to crackdown on resellers but some of the restrictions make no sense to me.

Hmmmm this is so wack. I know they have these weird policies and cap on how much you can purchase in a year...might have to create an account for my hubby

this purchase limitation policy is very confusing. is this from too many purchases or too many returns? the other aspect to all of this is that the past year has been unprecedented with many of us only purchasing online from stock photos. it is hit or miss to buy that way and i would think they should expect a few more returns from not having been able to see the item in real life. also, many of these items never make it to the boutiques in any quantity so the only way to purchase them is online from a stock photo. we cannot just walk into the boutique and see the item as it is often not available there. please let us know if you get clarification and sorry this is happening : /

agreed if you receive clarification let me know. I have purchased several items this year (January until now) I’m wondering what the criteria is for being flagged like that. I only “returned” my on the go pm due to glazing issues. But technically exchanged for the montsouris.
I did however have to get manager approval to purchase my last item on Saturday. He said “it’s because you’ve been paying in cash for items” I didn’t know this was a thing... I offered to pay with card and he said it would make no difference. Thinking back I’m wondering if that had something to do with the limit.

They said I can’t buy in store but they think I can buy online, told me to give it a go LOL. So they also don’t know I think.

Lol this may need to happen haha

Yeah, I’m not sure is it from buying too much or returning. So far this year I got about 10 items all in March and returned 2. I was shocked actually on launch day I was able to buy more than the 4 allowed in 4 weeks. So I actually thought they lifted the restrictions bc of the pandemic. Guess I was wrong on part of that. If I didn’t love this collection so much I’d forgo it all together. Sigh. Well I guess this will be my final hurrah until next year or whenever the ban is lifted lol

I think if I made all of these 10 purchases in store there will be no issue. But that’ just a guess.
