Oh, Mulberry Mermaid, now I understand your name! What a beautiful sea of Mulberry bags, love the Roxannes, especially the green bags and the dark red one...and the classic black. And I admire also the exquisite collection of the other bays, really extraordinary and well constructed bags, so beautiful. What's the name of the bag in the last picture? Love it! Enjoy your stunning collection and carry your bags in good health!

And I also have a confession to make. Although I promised myself not to buy more Mulberry bags this year, I couldn't resist this tasty nut that was for some time on my wishlist...It was 10 % off, for my excuse! I am very happy with this early Christmas present to myself!
Your tasty nut is exquisite!!! Lily's are so pretty & your color is so classic....Many Congrats dear Betty Kay!:tup:

You are too much! Your strutting, dancing and lovey dovey emoticons made me laugh!
Thank you so very much, darling Kendie, you sweetest girl-- for your compliments, they meant so much:love:
I'm sure your very own Pursery is at least as choc a bloc with Beauties!:girlsigh:

Ms. Fitzie is in no uncertain terms displeased with seeing her image on the inter webs. I assured her it was an honor to appear solo here and that mollified her somewhat. We are not amused, was the gist of it.:giggle:
:giggle::lol:You are too funny ("'we are not amused" by Fitz!) It's so easy to see the fabulous writer in you. Your collections is just drop-dead magnificent!!!:coolio::happydance::drinks:

You are so sweet, thank you so much for your lovely comments, MM! Hope you enjoyed the Mourvèdre, a good southern wine suits nicely to ray-of-sunlight Lily, she was very pleased! And I already treated
her with colonnil gel and will spray her with the water stop spray before taking her out, but a small plastic bag is also a very good idea! Unfortunately I somehow don't manage to insert emojis myself, I love the funny 3-D- emojis here!! Thanks a lot, and have a wonderful day!

You have prepared your Lily well, and I imagine that as she ages she will only grow more beautiful in patina. I wish you many happy times with her! A bag to enjoy for a lifetime, which is a quality that appeals to me very much. I know we all fall in love with different colors and styles but as time goes by it is truly the classics that hold my respect. It can be a trial for some of us to find our own personal style and know what suits us (still working on that myself :amuse:) but an Oak Lily is one of those rare bags that happily graces any outfit and any occasion. How many bags could say the same?
I salute your taste, dear Betty Kay! :flowers:

(p.s. note: about the emojis, if you would like to add some--there is a tiny smiley face up on the icon bar when you are writing a reply to post and just click on that and you will see two categories of emoji, static and animated. forgive me if you know this already and for some reason it's just not working:doh:)

Thank you Kendie, dearheart for your kind words, so nice to hear :hbeat:

Fitzie (she hates that nickname, "Lady Fitzrovia is my correct title, Missy Mae and don't you forget it!" Sheesh, delusions of grandeur or what?!) is still unamused today at her publicity and close to requesting I take her down. Not happening, Toots! :giggle:

Thank you very much for you explanation, dear MM, I didn't know that, always tried to insert the emojis near the keys, and that worked first, but they were deleted in the moments of posting!, But now it works!! :yahoo: And I absolutely agree with you about the timeless classics! I bought the Lily in black glossy goat first, because I needed a classic evening handbag more, but I fell in love immediately also with the oak one. So happy now to own them both, although I must admit, that I need for a whole working day a bag that is huger - but for that we have the Roxies, don't we ? Or the Bayswater or the Emmy....And that's why I love all these bags : I am really convinced that I will still love and carry them in 10 or twenty years- to justify all the money I spent this year on my delicious nuts;)!
And the Mulberry bags are so different, some are more rustic, some more elegant, even if every style does not fit to every occasion. I cannot put my Bayswater in my bicycle basket, but the Roxies and the Emmy work great for that. Lilies are for evenings, the Luella Gisele for shopping, the Roxette is great for business dates when I travel with the train and need more separate pockets for bein better organised with my ticket etc. I love the Bayswater satchels in winter, because I can put my cold hand in my coat pockets... and so on! And now I' m looking forward for my first Lily-oak-evening- drinking a glass of wine on your health and smiling in remembrance of these nice and joyful conversations in this happy-making forum!

Too right she is, like Helen Mirren* playing HRH, Queen Elizabeth!
I've adored Helen Mirren since seeing her onstage in London when we were both well, many years younger, but I'd say actually meeting her would be slightly intimidating--elegant and amazing and you'd better bring your A Game!
That's Fitzie all over!
*(Fitzie has approved the Dame Helen comparison, btw. Humble of her :giggle:)

Stunning collection and thanks for sharing

Thanks dear Louliu! So sweet of you to say.
Was seeing for the first time just now your current quandary with the Oxblood Beauty and all I can say is,
Wowzers!
Truly amazing. If it were in front of me, I'd be unable to resist;)

I hope that you make the right choice for yourself so that you are happy as can be with the size and feel. So important to be pleased with your decision!
Sounds like at least you have a little time to think about it, and to inhale that gorgeous leather at 4 am! Ahhh!
Your wee haul of treats--ehem, nuts--is sumptuous and stunning. You must have quite the enviable cache of nuts.
I salute your impeccable taste

Betty Kay, you give such an excellent overview of the raison d'être of Mulberry bags! I admire your description of the different styles of bag for different occasions and uses. I agree that they run the gamut from rustic to elegant, and some even have more than one face. Your choice of glossy black goat Lily sounds so right for almost any evening or dressy occasion, and though there are those who use their Lilies for everyday, I'd say she'd be too small for me and sounds like for you as well. Yes, I feel the same about my M's, and hope to use them for many years to come. Doubtless not all will last so long in the cache, and will move on to make room for others in the future. As needs and circumstances change, so too will our collections. It's only natural that they evolve along with us.

You painted wonderful images with your descriptions and I could see you on your bike with Roxy or Emmy in your basket happily greeting passersby, or elegant Roxette on the train, all professional and businesslike on the seat beside you as you scroll the headlines on your phone. Best of all, I imagined your new Oak Lily quietly dazzling the eyes of those at the glamorous nightspot where you enjoyed your glass of wine last evening:coolio:

p.s. So glad you mastered the emojis, you use them so expressively and made me smile

Fantastic that you have seen Helen Mirren in real life on stage, mermaid! I am also a great admirer of her and I can imagine that she would be honoured to sit next to Lady Fitzrovia sipping a Gin tonic or a glass of wine ! Would like to join that group, too!

Wouldn't that be so much fun? I can just see us all now, being all very "proper" and elegant over our drinkies and then cutting up when Helen made a hilarious joke--she apparently has a wicked sense of humor. (Whether Lady F would also join in with the hilarity is debatable--she can be a bit of a prig :giggle:)

I hope Santa listens to your request!
I know what you mean, it's just absolute perfection....except please could you make it a tad smaller, Johnny?! (He may not be altogether au fait with the more practical aspects of using a handbag, is that possible? I wonder, there must be design director upon design director at Mulberry--surely there is an intelligence re: actual use of the bag that comes into play? Someone must know the answer to this.) Still, it's incredibly beautiful, dearest Louliu, which may win the day? Honestly, don't think I could resist and would just fall head over heels.
Ignoring the more practical matter of its being perhaps 130% too perfect
