For dear Ludmilla, Louliu, Mayfly, MiniMabel, Kendie, Betty Kay, Pessie and Vinnie and all my darling fellow squirrels, here is my humble cache of nuts: I mean my babies! (my first pics, so please bear with me....) the last pic is a very special lassie

Oh, Mulberry Mermaid, now I understand your name! What a beautiful sea of Mulberry bags, love the Roxannes, especially the green bags and the dark red one...and the classic black. And I admire also the exquisite collection of the other bays, really extraordinary and well constructed bags, so beautiful. What's the name of the bag in the last picture? Love it! Enjoy your stunning collection and carry your bags in good health!

And I also have a confession to make. Although I promised myself not to buy more Mulberry bags this year, I couldn't resist this tasty nut that was for some time on my wishlist...It was 10 % off, for my excuse! I am very happy with this early Christmas present to myself!

Lovely nuts, my dear squirrels! Always a pleasure to look at the collections of others. [emoji4]

Great thread, I'm definitely a Squirrel, this one is definitely me-
Some squirrels have an impressive storage, it is very hard for every squirrel to let go of nuts that might come in handy again, And agonise with other squirrels about pruning their nuts

You forgot to mention the nuts we let go off..............................and so regretted later. I wish I still had them now and they still cost the same, what a difference a few years makes

I'm hanging on tightly to my remaining Mulberry nuts

I've so enjoyed looking at all the fabulous true Mulberry bags. I can almost smell the Darwin & NVT from here. I so miss that gorgeous smell on the new Mulbs!!

I agree completely, dear Mulberrygal! [emoji106] My problem is that I can't move for bags, so my entire vintage Kate Spade and Anya Hindmarch collection is destined for a New Year's cull, together with a lot of my beloved (but unused) Mulberry girls. I'm currently thinking: a large Poppy, some Bayswaters, my SBSs, a couple of Mabels (possibly - I don't use them because I can't locate them!) and my lovely Eustons.
Of course, this is all theoretical! [emoji6] In practice, a squirrel and her nuts are seldom parted! [emoji883][emoji270]

Omg, what a wonderful, enabling statement....it makes me realise I need more NUTS! :yahoo:
I can encourage you even more... :graucho: The small double zip tote in black is my perfect day-to-evening bag, it is large enough for the most important things at work and looks also classy when I go directly after work to the theatre or a good restaurant, you can delete the shoulder strap... Love also the small del Rey for that, which is a different style , less formal, closes at the top and that's why I absolutely needed that bag, too.
Needed also a very easy and uncomplicated bag for a lot of very casual occasions, that's why the Tessie satchel entered my home- preloved and not so expensive... Love the thick, good smelling leather and the rich oxblood colour.

... Finally the Mulberry bug got me for the last time this year- saw this weekend again a very tasty nut at a secondhand Internet shop, my third try to buy something from this shop, two times in vain. The shop is nice and professional, but they buy on commission and there seem to be a lot of sellers who don't offer their bags anymore when someone wants to buy them, have been twice very disappointed. So please keep your fingers crossed for me and a Mabel in chocolate brown saddle leather! Saw the picture, very nice price in my opinion, bag seems to be in a good condition, saw informations and pictures of Mabels in TPF and the mouthwatering description of elvisfan4life in the Mabel club convinced me to grab it...Love chocolate, don't have a chocolate bag yet, and the bag seems to be very versatile, very well made and beautiful... So cancelled my promises to buy no more bags for some time. Squirrel DNA cannot be denied...

Oh dear Betty Kay, you are so right! (I welcomed a new nut into my home today and have been polishing her up and am in love. :heart:Leah...)
Squirrel DNA is as tenacious as the real life squirrels in my back garden who have finally figured out today how to bust the unbeatable "Squirrel Proof" bird feeder:amuse:
I love your explanation of the different bags for different purposes--how true. Your description of the gorgeous oxblood Tessie may have the same effect as Elvis's wonderful description of the Mabel! I don't yet own a Mabel though I'd like to someday--they are not easy to find in lovely condition and esp. in Chocolate! So glad you leapt! Do post a pic of your lovely new nut when you are ready and we can all admire her :flowers:

I join you dear Mayfly in agreeing completely with dear Mulberrygal! The ones that got away...sigh:-s Best to imagine them happy in their new nests!
I do admire your thinking about the cull. Having been through this quite a bit myself, let me know if you want some encouragement in that direction. (You probably have plenty of experience with this, but if not, and you want some moral support, I'm here.) Somehow, I don't think it will be quite as painful in fact as it is in prospect--especially if that prospect includes a new nut or two . I agree that one needs to really think about it first so that you can practice letting go beforehand. Some clever person here had a great strategy (sorry, cannot recall who) for setting aside the bags you're considering letting go for a month or so (was it? sorry, I'm useless!) and even using them for a week each to see if they still pleased the eye and functioned well enough to reconsider. I think we all have in our stashes gorgeous nuts that we never use because they just don't work well for us, whether in scale, weight, faffiness factor, etc. , and we know somehow they never will. But can we bear to part with them? Sometimes, perhaps. Even squirrels need space in the closet:tup:

Oh, MM , thanks for your nice reply and congrats for you Leah! Which style did you buy? I think there are bucket bags, totes and rucksacks? Which color? Picture would be nice:wave: And the squirrels in your garden seem to be as well organised and talented as mine... they also managed to bust the peanut bird feeder:no:

I understand totally Mayfly, I got bogged down with way too many nuts and it's difficult to know where to begin :panic: for me it was the realisation that we would one day downsize our home and move house, with the babes gone it's way too big.................I''d spread out, kept too much of everything, and starting the huge process of de-cluttering made me feel better..

The nuts of course are very precious, I successfully downsized my collection over the years by getting rid of lots of smaller nuts to get a bigger ones ;) but still far too many

 for our deluded attempts, Betty Kay to deny the squirrels the lion's share of all our bird feeders forever and ever! I for one love squirrels so I'm not too bothered, as long as the birds can get a look in.

Thank you for the nice note, BK! It is a Leah Shoulder Bag in Eggplant. (this Leah style has a comfy shoulder strap and a wee flap that comes over the top with a Mulberry gold coin type "charm" on the ring. Mine is missing the charm, but Leahs being as rare as the proverbial hen's teeth, I leapt when I saw it in spite of this, and plan to add a charm of some sort to finish her off. I'm aware that many would not have anything to do with a bag thus flawed, but she is otherwise so lovely and in such good nick, I could not resist. I cannot imagine how/why someone removed the charm. ) Moo beautifully described some of the qualities of plonge lambskin on here, and shared pics of her stunning examples, which helped me to decide to purchase her. The lambskin does seem to require some extra care in terms of wear and tear, but is remarkably soft and supple and the feel of her on my shoulder is light as a feather. I imagine this is one of the reasons Leahs were so well loved when they came out. There is a stunning example of this model in hazelnut--a knockout shade-- also on npn: https://www.npnbags.co.uk/naughtipi...der-Bag-in-Hazelnut-Lambskin-Plonge-SOLD.html
(I hope this is ok to link, as npn is such a stellar site and so well respected--apologies if this is not ok, please mods let me know, thanks!)

It's too dark to take a decent pic now but I shall do so tomorrow so you can see. I shall need to stuff her as she's totally puddly and just collapses elegantly in a little heap ;)

Totally agree with the wonderful qualities of the plonge lambskin, it's a fabulous finish. I immediately grabbed a Bays large clutch in the Outlets several years ago. I don't think there were many made in the mushroom which is a very light colour and does need TLC and babying. It's a Mulberry that I refuse to part with even though she is rarely used, she's still immaculate. The feel of the leather is amazing and it's finished with loads of rose gold.

Enjoy your Leah MulberryMermaid, eggplant is such a fabulous colour. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures

It's so difficult to part with our hoard. I've loved all of my Mulbs but there were some that just didn't suit my lifestyle any longer, they'd stay unused for far too long and I just had to move some on. I can justify keeping four or five I rarely use but not the mass I'd gathered.
I love your thinking MulberryMermaid................best to imagine them happy in their new nests. :annoyed: at this time of year I always think of my gorgeous champagne metallic tiger Bays that I foolishly parted with. I used her once, she was the first very delicate Mulb I bought and an evening out to an Indian restaurant made me think I was mad  and after not using her for some time moved her on.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I paid a ridiculous £350 in the sale, oblivious at that time how crazy the prices would go. When I think what a Bayswater costs now and how much more I pay for a bag I could have justified keeping her and using just as a special for Christmas. I'd love to still own her and always keep a watchful eye out although I can't imaging finding one in pristine condition.
