Hello ladies, after missing out on the first edition of "La Marche du Zambèze" I ordered two colourways of that joyful scarf in silk twill straight away: No 14 (orange/brun/caramel) and No. 20 (rose pâle/vert/jaune). As Living-la-Vida-FiFi says all quite well, No. 20 is a no-brainer, but No. 14 ( my favourite  ) imo is a real surprise: A very vibrant orange base paired with very warm yellows, browns, beiges and even pale rose and cream - this colour composition turns the scarf into perfect harmony (see detailed pics). I also added two pics allowing to compare the "pale rose" and "orange" to the same colourways of two older scarves ("Pois de Soie" and "Bolduc") to show the difference, maybe some of you might be interested in.
How beautiful they both are! I’ve loved every single CW I’ve seen from this season. These have each such a different vibe and feel

Here is a quick mod shot of my first scarf of the new season: La Marche du Zambeze CW 14 orange/brun/caramel Such a breathtaking design and the colors are so so gorgeous Did you ever buy a lipstick just because of the name? I did yesterday, the name of the lipstick is "Orange Danger". And this is exactly where I always am. I will take more pics of the scarf tomorrow.

Thank you for clarifying that the orange scarf (or similar desirables) appear sporadically. I'm surprised that H doesn't bring a boatload of select designs for the web and dole them out one by one. It seems that's what they used to do for decades. So the web offerings were pretty static and predictable.

Scarf1, this is absolutely gorgeous.

I wonder if Marche du Zambeze was done by the same artist(s) who did Flowers of South Africa? I never got Marche so I never looked closely at it. But now I see that the artistic styles are similar IMO.
Yes... both by the Ardmore Artists

I absolutely agree, but I think the amount of wrinkling depends on the actual scarf. I have two of the Kachinas wash and they haven’t wrinkled at all.
I agree... all of mine are a little different in the density, weight and wrinkle factor... My first one, Coupe de Gala is the velvetiest and heaviest and the one that wrinkles the most... Every subsequent edition of the wash scarves appear to be a little lighter and a bit less wrinkly IMO

Morning All - I have been long absent from here for a variety of reasons (taking care of my mom before she passed away, an illness of my own, work, life, etc) and had not been doing much H scarf shopping. I have many beautiful scarves from the past but tend to wear my cashmere shawls most of the time and not so much the 90's. But I'd pick up a new scarf here and there at a boutique or online.

But the bug bit me again. I fell last week right by our house taking a walk and fractured my right foot in 3 places and am in.a tall boot miserable and uncomfortable but luckily per the ortho will not need surgery. My DH thought i needed something to cheer me up and looked on the H website and send me a link to the La Marche du Zambeze scarf to see if I wanted him to by it for me, He thought it was a beautiful pattern and and liked the collaboration with the Ardmore Collection in Africa.

So I went online and went a little crazy and ordered the La Marche du Zambeze but snuck back on and ordered 3 more scarves. They all should be arriving next week. I saw the La Marche du Zambeze in the wash today and may exchange the one I ordered for that one. I will need to see how they look when they arrive to decide if I will keep them all.

It's been great trying to look through all the posts. Hard to keep up with them all but nice to be back here. Sorry if too much info! (TMI). Have a good weekend!

My condolences for the passing of you mother, and I am so sorry you have been unwell yourself. Your scarf choices are fabulous and I hope you will share pics once you receive them

My scarves came late yesterday but I just had a chance to open the boxes and we are having storms today so I don't have good light to take good photos.

La Marche de Zambeze - noir/ver/orange - beautiful - waiting on wash version to decide which to keep but will likely be the wash

Selles des Steppes - nor/rouge/multi - stunning pattern but colorway is too bright for me - this one is going back

Faubourg Tropical - bleu hean/vert/jaune - absolutely gorgeous - love it!

En Attendant Ulysse - in 45 size - indigo/blanc/rose vif - it's great but how do you wear or use this size scarf? I have never had a. 45 and it seems way to small and tight to wear around my neck. Love the pattern and colors though.

Thanks.

Scarf mail today. Faubourg Tropical in bleu/vert/jaune, CW06. I wish there was a colorway where the bird of paradise flowers were their natural orange, but there isn't, so I picked the colorway where these flowers had the most color. I like the brown color of the animals and the orange awnings on the building. The snake is easy to spot in this colorway, but our family resembles that in the play "You Can't Take It with You", complete with a pet snake in our living room. My brother even once made gun powder in the basement after watching an episode of "Daniel Boone" where the recipe was given. (This was back before the Internet existed. My father caught him. Brother: Oh, it won't work. Our dad: Don't be so sure of that. They carried it outside and exploded it.)

My take is that Faubourg Tropical is a gorgeous summer scarf in vibrant pastals. I don't have anything similar, so I'm planning on keeping it.

My Marche du Zambese is light and thin, but still velvety and fluffy in texture. It does wrinkle but the wrinkles subside once it rests with my other scarves overnight. Though I might not be the best person to comment on this as I'm not super fussy about wrinkles :)

Congrats, what a beautiful breezy summer scarf! This coloration reminds me a bit of the orchid and aqua Giverny. Lovely!
