Are you based in London? If so you can go into any H store and make a wishlist. From what I understand, (please someone who shops in London correct me) getting your wish granted is not contingent on spending. I believe it is based on availability.
I am based in London, actually 10 min walk to Harrods. I have been always intimidated by the crowd and the whole spiel.Also i dont want to feel pressured to buy things i dont care for, so i was shopping online. Lately i found myself wanting a QB more than before. Maybe its time to shop in store and see what happens. Or maybe ill travel to Paris few times see if i get lucky

I understand that you can get intimidated by the crowd or the SAs (who may look cold). I was in that situation when I started shopping at H. But, once you establish a relationship with the SA, you will feel like "that store" becoming your "home store" eventually. When that happens, then you wouldn't be bothered by the crowed anymore... Also, by doing so, they will invite you for events, etc. (as I've been told). It isn't easy but should be a joyful experience. :) Also, listed elsewhere above, it's important to shop with 1-3 different SAs (or stores) and find the right SA for you who would be committed to get a quota bag for you.

If you are in London, I think you should definitely try your local stores! Maybe week days will be less crazy/overwhelming. I have heard (as I think someone else mentioned), London’s wishlist system is a bit different than most stores and may not require as extensive of prespend. Not sure re the harrods location though. It also of course varies depending on what you’re looking for.

I believe you can still enter the lottery from london as well, so you could try that route and see if you get lucky before trekking to Paris to shop. FWIW from my/my friends’ personal experiences, I think getting a bag in Paris has gotten more difficult and the system is not what it used to be. (We are repeat visitors who have purchased bags in Paris in the past.)

So here’s my experience. I am relatively new to the brand. I got my first B25 in a neutral GHW this year from my boutique at 1.4:1 ratio. It took me 1.5 years to get since i started shopping regularly at the brand and with my SA in Jan 2022. I think this is mostly bc i took a slow and steady approach to spending (about $1-3k each visit). I had also been offered a couple other QBs (B30, C24) just before i hit 1:1 but i declined.

I think this depends on a few factors that have been mentioned here previously:
- i have a great relationship with my SA despite not being a big spender and not buying any RTW, gold jewelry, mens, watches, or furniture LOL
- my SA has specifically said i have a good profile though bc i spend in multiple categories and don’t have many bags/leather on my profile
- i go to store regularly, about every 4-6weeks
- there has been speculation that it is easier to get your first bag than consecutive offers
- my boutique is quite small and not in a big city in the US

I do believe that if i had spent the same in a shorter amount of time that an offer would have appeared quicker for me. However, i prefer slow and steady as i can appreciate my purchases more and it is easier on my bank account haha.

I bought in homewares (blanket, pillow, tableware, change tray etc), shoes, silks, silver jewelry, fashion jewelry, perfumes, makeup.
I would say my highest spend was in homewares, shoes, and silks. The only leather goods i had bought from store was a mini Evelyne, and a calvi.
 
Hi Hermes lovers and this wonderful group! I would like to share my experience with Hermès. I started my journey last year back in April. I started off small and thought I found a SA that i clicked with . At that time I purchased Orans sandals and perfume. I explained at that time I wanted a Herbag 31 in Orange. SA K would keep an eye open. At that moment no follow up I tried texting no response. So I went back to boutique 3 months later and found a different SA who was a fresh breath of air helped me order some house wear and asked me about my wishlist. And I explained that I was working with SA Q and stated that I would like to change SA and would you be willing to be my main SA . New SA stated sure . She was able to produce the Herbag in the right color and size . I explained I would like to have Birkin in 30 with gold hardware neutral colors . Main SA put information into iPhone. Months later I went back and purchased more items I’m at 5k pre spend and no bag . Last year I went back to purchase some beach sandals and asked her to place and order of green oasis she didn’t even bother to check just stated it was sold out . I told SA to keep an eye out if one pops up . So later that day I called customer service and was told Madison store had my pair and I was able to call the store to purchase by them sending me a link . Main SA would only call to offer things that would only make SA monthly goals . I felt that she taking advantage of me and I pause my shopping with SA for Dec 2022. I was very disappointed that I didn’t get a B30 . I saw other people getting bags and was just what is wrong with me ?? This journey has put me through mental breakdown. I told myself I would reach back out through text to see if main Sa can find my Chypre sandals she stated she would put an order. A week later . So a week later I stop by into boutique just to browse around to see if new things were available and I asked about the cypher sands and SA told me oh I can place an order , but last week SA told me the order was placed! SA completely lie to me but I told myself again that I’m done ! Going into 11/2023 I drop by the boutique because I wanted a gold ring , scarf, mules , RTW and a couple of books. Pre spend now 13k I asked again about my b30 and she shook her head and stated stock is low and no bags available etc ….. you know bs lies ! So I saw the manager and explained this whole situation that I been waiting patiently and not been offered my wishlist bag manager check my profile and walk to the back where my main SA was and had a talk with SA . I noticed her demeanor has changed and stated I need yo update your wishlist what are you interested in and we will start working on your bag .



This is SA even offered me a pegasus that I’ve been wanting for two years now that I’ve paid for . So today SA calls and offers me a B30 in Vert Amade with silver hardware something I did not request on my wishlist! I politely declined the bag and explained per whishlist the only hardware is gold , provided colors and size . Now SA stated it doesn’t work like that you only get one choice to pick and maybe something would come next year ! I’m so emotionally drained and have tried to keep a positive outlook but I feel devastated any helpful advice would be appreciated ! sorry for being long winded

I’m so sorry to hear this. The game is a very tough one especially when you’re just looking for an SA who will look out for you. I too am going through something similar. Spent $5k with my first SA who I thought we clicked with, but it became clear she was prioritizing other clients over me (which is fair since I’m not a huge spender per visit). No bags in site. Not even a Bolide, Herbag, or Evelyne. I just switch to a new SA and bought only a wallet, but decided to take a pause after how well I was treated by my Chanel SA. (First time client at Chanel this month. Mentioned once to this SA about how much I wanted this dress. Showed him a photo and he was honest about how hard it was to get. A month later, he reached out and got it for me and is currently working on other items on my wishlist). I feel like I have to constantly beg/remind for items with my Hermes SA’s, so I’m gonna try and get a bag in Paris since I’m heading there in April.

My husband wants to speak with the manager, but I don’t want confrontation, or a big blowup, and I am blacklisted or band . If the new year comes and no call I will be in Paris for my bday this late March going into April!

I do agree with you on not making a scene. From what I have read on here and Facebook, there are those who will spend $20k-$40k before getting the bag that they want. Or I have read of people who have spent $40k (or more) with no Birkin or Kelly offers. I definitely don’t want to dig myself into that hole and would rather build a profile in Paris, plus get a fun trip in another country as an extra bonus :)

I totally agree! I’m praying for us that didn’t get offers this year and very soon we will all have our dream bags ❤️

Honestly, Madison is hard for chypres and certain bags. there is no guarantee of a bag, and many clients spend 2X or 3X per visit (Excluding leather and bags).* My Madison SA has told me that it doesn’t work like that either. It’s not like you submit a wish list and after a certain amount, you are guaranteed the bag On your list. Unless your SA Is in the leather department, SAs can only offer what the SM authorizes them to offer. If your SA has not been authorized to offer a client a [ghw bag of x color and y size] you won’t get it. I would not take it personally Bc it’s not personal. It’s how H corporate chooses to allocate bags. It is not up to the SA, and IMO it’s a bit counterproductive to blame them.

ETA: re the shoe situation, my SA had tried to get chypres for me for months (during which time I received several B25 and B30 offers). What apparently happens is when orans and chypres come in, the shoe dept SAs grab them for their regular clients bf they even make it to the sales floor.

ETA: it is not considered easier to obtain a lottery leather appt in Paris.

*while there is no official linked selling in the US (buy x and get y), when Madison clients talk about prespend, many of them exclude bags and leather goods from the tally. Of course, some are lucky and get their bags with minimal spend, but I don’t think that is the norm by any means.
