I am new to Hermes and am wondering, do you have to spend roughly 10k a year in order to get a bag offer? I have always shopped online to avoid the stress but since i am buying here and there, shall i try to spend in store and make a wishlist?

If you want a Birkin, Kelly, or Constance, direct from the Hermes brand, shopping in store is the only way. Competition is fierce for these bags so Hermes decides who to offer them to, based in a large part, on their in-store-specific purchase history. Depending on the desirability of the specific bag, prespend amounts can range up to $50k (or more) PER ACCEPTED BAG OFFER.

50k is insane amount of money just to get offered for a bag lol

Here's my opinions:
1) Online purchases do not count. But, if you establish a relationship with the SA, that SA may consider previous online purchases. You need to show loyalty to Hermes AND the SA. (Loyalty to Hermes alone is not sufficient unfortunately.) Addendum: SA will be your team to get the approval of offer from the SM. (The SM will ultimately decide whom to give the quota bags. When you have purchase history through your SA, your SA will defend to the SM on your behalf to get the quota bag.)
2) Depending on the SA and the SM, that SA can offer you the bag you want whether you spend $5K or $10K. It's really up to the SA and availability of bags, etc.
3) Also, it depends on which bag you aim at. You may not even need to spend $10K if you look for a bag that is less competitive. If you are more explicit about the bag you want and the location (or country you reside), people here can give you some guidance in greater detail.

Very interesting. Which size or style are the bags that you would consider "less competitive"?

1) Bigger sizes tend to be less competitive. Holding other factors constant, B35 is less competitive than B25. (The demand for B25 is much higher than the B35.)

2) Also, "quota bags" are not universally defined. Constance bags are not considered such in NY, but they are in most Asian countries.

3) Some bags have "Kelly" in their names, and some of them are not quota bags either. So, "B/K/C" (as shown in the title of this thread) is actually misleading.

“Quota bag” or not, they will all require a relationship and prespend so perfectly applicable for this thread.

I appreciate this.

Since i am flexible with my spendings, will go through the store purchase route in 2024 and see what happens. I have my eye on the yellow gold kelly bracelet, so it might be a good way to start
Be sure to establish an SA relationship before making such a large purchase. I would wait until you've shopped with someone for some months first.

I’d def shop in store to build a profile but depending on what you want, $10k a year probably isn’t enough unless you want something not as popular or hard to place. For a neutral definitely a big challenge. The pre loved route may be faster for you.
