Def relationship bags! I know someone who was offered a cargo b25 with a 1:1 spend, (but has a very strong relat with her newish SA).
Nope, in my case less. But this answer will vary greatly depending on your relationship, location, tenure, and time between bags
At FSH, my SA says zero requirement for prespend to get bags. But, clients obviously are happy to spend on stuff they love.
Of course there is a level of spend where you are likely to get what you want, when you want it too. Some SAs and clients are more transactional and bag oriented.

As a point of comparison to prespend, Kelly pochettes are in Japanese reseller boutiques all over Tokyo. I saw maybe 4 of them, some in great condition, some not, for the equivalent of 12 or 14K USD for swift (I wasn’t looking to buy one, but i was interested in pricing). January 2025

I have not brought up the question of a QB for over a year, and there has been nothing in my wishlist since my last offer. I've been shopping every 2-3 months at a very modest spending. Curious to see what my SA is going to say about me getting a Birkin 
The post I quoted from @acrowcounted did suggest that moderate spend would still be 3-5X, but spread over 2 years. In my own experience, I’ve found that post to be quite accurate. Circumstances of reduced spend (if you simply love stuff but sizes and styles aren’t available) or the types of bags one is requesting would also IMO impact how well relatively lower spend is perceived. That’s JMO thoughI am soon going to test this theory/approach
ETA: I’ve also wondered if an SA has many long standing, high spending clients who have slowed their bag acquisition (bc they own quite a bit already), if the SA can occasionally “afford” to provide a favored (younger client) with a bag offer. Such a client may be seen as having future potential. And, the higher spend of others might essentially “subsidize” an occasional offer to the younger one.
years ago, my H SA and my Chanel SA both spoke about encouraging some younger clients of more limited means bc some of them have future potential

I was definitely one of those younger kids with potential years back after getting a B25 w roughly 1:1.5 spend. IMO the less i shopped and annoyed my SA with tiny little trinket purchases and bundled my purchases more often into sizable “hauls” so she would miss me was when I finally got a QB after a six month shopping ban.
Fair. I think I got to around 1:1 within a year, as shopping really has not been a priority lately. .In the U.S.? I have two friends that got it in the past two years - both spend around 1 to 2:1. VIP accounts.
I have another friend that just got a Kelly doll, sold it, and through the same reseller bought a Birkin picnic brand new. She spent less for the picnic this way than she would have spent in store. Her account is very recent, less than two years, but also VIP in a few countries.
In small town Europe it is more relationship based than prespend based. I heard from two stores that SAs can nominate one client each for two special bags a year. A list with names is submitted to Paris, and Paris approves who the bag goes to. In this particular country, some boutiques cover neighboring countries that don’t have stores, so these boutiques have to have the special bags approved by Paris.
The other stores that cater to locals have the bag approved by that country’s corporate office. Each small store receive max of 1 a year of a particular model, some years none.
When you say VIP account what are you considering? Because 2:1 is a relatively low spend for that. Ty
They are VIP in the system (I think it is the level just below collector, which is the highest level I believe).
I heard that being VIP in the system is not only based on spend. It is spend, tenure, types of products you buy and other factors which they never tell you but we all have an idea of what they are. They buy exotic belts, shoes, SLGs (including ones with diamond covered hardware/clasp) and NQBs, stuff that doesn’t move easily. I am sure the stores look at their gross spend, including SLGs, NQBs. Their prespend excluding SLGs and NQBs (as I understand it is calculated) is what I mentioned.
All were in smaller stores.
