The youtuber "Rui Etc" received a Kelly Pochette in Germany. She had the option between a KP in Etoupe with Gold Hardware and Noir Gold Hardware, opting for the Noir KP. I would gauge and say the relationship factor weighs heavier than spend
If you follow her video, it looks like she spends a lot on RTW. In this case I’d say relationship and spend are highly correlated :D

I didn’t know her.

In this case I think her prespend must be very high as she has many Hermes ítems. She also bought 5000$ in Hermes for her 10 years old daughter.

I love her dog snoring while she is showing the bag.

We share the same Ikea library so my KP is next

I dont think she has a kid 😅 she did have a kid on her video once but that is not her daughter. In any case, i think she buys some 10k coats… the spend definitely helps the relationship.

Last time there was a discussion about this, some use 10k as the unit, some use the actual prices. I personally use the actual price.
Yes, when I started shopping, pre-spend was quantified in terms of RATIOS, 1 being the actual price and the second number being the multiple of the price of the bag that needed to be spent to be offered a bag. So if a 25 Birkin cost $12K, and the ratio is 1:2, I would have to prespend $24k before I would likely be offered a 25B in that particular store. My personal experience is that pre-spend ratios become less important as your tenure at a store lengthens. Especially if you are not primarily a leather client.

This is my experience as well! :)

Agree! Tenure matters and in your case your SA and SM adore you! They must, for the beautiful bags they’ve offered you.

Nowadays most QBs start around $12k-15k? If a new shopper thinks 2:1 means 20k in spending, they might grow frustrated over an “overdue” bag, when in reality their store might be looking for pre-spends in the 26k-30k range or more.

I find that H truly operates on the relationship model. Once they accept you as a “regular” client or maybe just clients they love, they relax their rules quite a bit. However when someone is new, they could be a stickler to whatever “ratio” or rules they have.

Lol I have not experienced the tenure advantage yet. I’ve been trying to slow my spend to see if I can get smth at a lower spend so far no dice 😂. I haven’t gotten anything at 1:1 but I suppose 1:2 is already a low spend already.

In my opinion getting a bag is a Venn diagram of spend, relationship and luck.

Even though this title is mostly interpreted in the context of the US, I want to ask something about Paris.

I've had purchases since October 2024. In the meantime, by chance, I received a SO offer in March.

Did this spending reset with the SO offer, or is it still valid in the context of prespend?

To be honest, during my Paris experience, I realized that the relationship is more important than my spending. What do you think?

My SA promised me a bag for July. Now, if the SO offer from March is considered separately, do I need to make another purchase, or should I just wait and see what she will do?

Paris expects that you will shop (decently) every time you visit. She may have a bag for you this time regardless, but if you don’t spend with it, it is likely that it will be difficult for you going forward.

You think so?

She knows that for a long term we will order armchair for our apartment in Paris. And I will buy croc leather watch. But I want to make this watch shopping after to see her offer.
I don’t know if she will offer you a bag. You say she promised you a bag in July so you’ll just have to see. My point was if she does offer you a bag before you spend anything additional, I wouldn’t take that to mean that you don’t need to spend to get bags. I would take it to mean that she’s acting on faith that you WILL spend and if you then don’t, you likely won’t get future bag offers. If you have things you intend to buy, I wouldn’t play these games. Buy the things you intend to buy and see what happens.
