Spend threshold for B/K/C

Can you please let me know if my prespend understanding is correct?

I’m currently working on getting a quota bag, so I want to build up my home store profile with my SA whilst getting items I love.

There’s a piece of fine jewelry online I want, but my store does not have my size and no nearby stores have my size (I called customer service to check). So, if I ask my SA to order this item for me, does that mean they get commission BUT it does not go towards my prespend given the SM would prefer the item to come from their store inventory? I’m assuming it wouldn’t be a transfer given the size is difficult to find, so they’d likely have to get it for me via online.
If your SA facilitates the purchase, even if it comes from the website, the SA gets commission and it counts to your prespend.

Another "prespend count" question for the wise sages of this forum - do home furnishings/lighting also count? I'm considering a rather pricey purchase (although maybe not pricey for hermes ) and I probably would need to give my wallet a rest for a bit after this, but I'm hoping for a QB this year so would feel better about taking a short pause from other shopping if this purchase "counts." I know sometimes other leather purchases don't count, etc., so would rather spend money on things where a bag hopefully follows...

Absolutely counts. Probably the #1 best thing you could buy actually.

I was going to purchase a floor lamp, but was nicely dissuaded from it by my sa because it would take a year to come in and I wouldn’t be eligible for the pre spend until the lamp was delivered and paid in full. My sa knew I wanted a qb so showed me the FJ instead haha.

Just an FYI but of course your sa/store might do things differently.

At the very least it establishes you in your SA’s mind as a serious client with interest across metiers and the capacity to invest in them. That’s good for the relationship.

When we say NQ Bags don’t count toward prespend? Does that include all bags? My husband is looking at a new work case, would there be no reason for me to incentivize him to get Hermes (plum/sac de pesches)

Depends on your region- some stores do count all non quota items not just as pre spend but you look like you are more interested in other items in the brand. You let us know if your QB arrives faster after that purchase !

I need some H counselling and I am hoping all you wise people can help me. For context I have started my Hermes journey in the fall of 2023. Nothing major bought in 2023 ( a belt, lots of cosmetics and perfumes as gifts for others). In 2024, I bought some shoes, RTW entry level, more cosmetics, silks, 2 polos from the equestrian line and 2 non QB bags. I found later towards the end of 2024 that my SA left Hermes and was assigned a new SA by the store manager.

1. Does anyone know what happens to your pre-spend if your SA leaves and you get assigned a new one? is it practically at 0 or does it still count towards your profile? i thought since SM are the ones that approve a bag offer it would still count but does it technically reset to 0 with my new SA? Am i competing for her attention with her other customers or the store in general? How do you know if an SA truly has your back and wants to help you get a QB?

2. My wishlist is a B30 with GHW in any neutral colour. When I asked my new SA about what I need to do get one, she mentioned QB bags work on a waitlist system and once they are on my profile is just a matter of waiting till one arrives. She said in the meantime just to buy what I love and don't need to spend on high ticket items as H has varying price points across all categories. This seems to counteract what others have said that big ticket items are key to getting an offer.

3.I am worried that I can not financially keep my pre-spend high enough per year to compete with others at my store. I can do it gradually with smaller spends here and there but I can't drop $15K in one go and then have enough money for a QB relatively soon. It feels like I may never get one as my pre-spend per year never gets that high.

4. Any tips/ suggestions would be helpful to keep me from getting discouraged including categories to spend and how to pace my purchases in 2025.

Where are you located? I believe in Europe they use a wishlish system and you do not technically need any pre spend.

TBH, maybe go through the preloved market if you are only after a QB. It's really not worth going to financial distress. Hermes is not cheap or for the feint of heart. But if you really, truly like the other "stuff" then I'd say just keep going nice and slow. Personally, I love scarves and find those easy to acquire one or two a year without feeling like I break the bank.

From my experience, yes prespend does reset when you suddenly get a new SA.
