Would anyone know if Kelly elan is included in prespend in Paris stores? I know non quotas usually aren’t included but does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
I dont think you will ever find out for sure...pre-spend isn't fixed and discussed openly outside of Asia so you will never know for sure if Kelly elan was counted in that pre-spend(most likely it won't but again if you got a B25 with a 3:1 ratio and a Kelly Elan is in that spend it won't be clear if that was counted or not because pre-spend ratio could vary anywhere from 1:1 (or less if you are extremely lucky) to 1:4 or 5...

It shocks me every time I read about your pre-spend :wtf: I am incredibly glad that I am from Europe and don't have to play these games. After 1-2 small purchases, we get on the waiting list, and without purchasing anything else we receive our bag after 1-1,5 years. Even on vacation in the South of France, we only need around 8-10k pre-spend for a Mini Kelly if one is available. It's all about brand loyalty and the love for their craftsmanship. Of course we also have VIP and highspenders and yes, they will get limited editions and more than one QB but everyone has a realistic chance of getting a QB without spending a lot; they just have to wait a little longer. I love that and I feel very sorry for those who work hard every day but have no money to spend 3-4:1

What I find even more regrettable is the fact that people who would really love and wear the bags don't get any, while the reseller market is just flooded, even with the most special pieces.

I think that every purchase is positive in europe. Whether its considered as pre-spend or not, is up to the SA and SM.

The only profiles that the stores generally will be a bit reserved with handing bags to customers that purchased multiple of the listed items (eg, chypre in multiple sizes, too many PM Rodeos, smaller non-quota bags...etc).

I think the best move is to wear what you've purchased from that store when you are stopping buy it will be good for a first impression. This is purely my personal observation, it's all based on how the SA perceives you.

I have a friends that recently went Paris and purchased FJ for around 13,000/- Euros and came back empty handed (no purchase history), and another one that purchased 8,000 Euros and got a holy grail blue box B25 with a profile that was dormant for years.

I think every purchase is positive in Europe excluding the big hubs as London, Paris, Milano and seasonal stores. My experience is that smaller stores generally do not care how many NQBs you get and/or how much money you spend if you are local. If you are on their wishlist and visit 3+ times a year, a QB most likely will arrive for you. If you are a recurrent shopper in that particular store even if not local, something will arrive for you as well, but then prespend matters much more. Some countries are more strict with allowing non-locals into their wishlists, as Germany and Austria, among others.

It is funny that in Italy they care about chypre; I heard SA saying she needed authorization to let a mother take chypre for her and her daughter, even if she saw them trying the shoes in store. In France they seem to care about Kelly belt: I gift it often so I order mostly online, but I noticed they start “appearing” in Paris stores the more you spend. I got one one day, and the next day asked for another one in another color and SA mentioned they probably wouldn’t approve because of the one I bought the prior day; 12,000 euros later - “I have two kelly belts for you now.” I never thought they cared about rodeos until your message since you can buy as many as you want online in Europe. Maybe they care more about them in the U.S. since they are not available much online?

I don’t think they care much about smaller NQBs either unless you start buying multiples of the same bag and color.

I do think prespend numbers are becoming more universal though, and that the numbers are similar in Paris and the U.S. nowadays. I noticed in London some people are not getting bags on wishlist anymore unless the prespend is at least 10.000 pounds.

UK and US are in their own league definitely, this is purely my observation from those who stopped or never got offered a QB with such history even if their orders are online as it’s visible to the store. The new online system has a quota now as well and they limited purchases on bags, SLG’s and shoes.

I honestly don’t keep track of my pre-spend anymore as my wishlist no longer arrive after a big pre-spend. Maybe the one before my previous QB was sufficient or something

At the end it all bottoms down to the SA and how the store is managed and wants to maintain long standing relationships. In my store NQB/SLG are considered as pre-spend and never delayed my QB unlike others, however ! Any bag that’s has the name Kelly is considered a quota, Constance is a quota…etc

I also observed that even in competitive stores in Australia and US there are customers receiving 2 QB per year with 1-1 pre-spend and some that spend much more and have to wait longer.

Agree with @acrowcounted that bags aren’t prespend, but I also feel that the answer as to whether you can get one can vary / depend on your SA and what she is allowed to offer that day.

If our profiles just show the running tab of EVERYTHING we have purchased. Which is definitely the case because many of us have seen our profiles….do SAs sit down and calculate how much we’ve spent since the last QB while subtracting all the items people claim “don’t count as prespend?” This seems like such an unlikely scenario to me but I’d love to know if people actually think SAs are running around with calculators…

Not sure why this is on my mind. Possibly because I saw my running total when I picked up a sweater this week and it just seems so implausible to me, knowing my SA, that she’s calculating stuff.

Good point! I also doubt SAs run the actual numbers to the pennies. My theory is that when SAs are asked about QBs, they glance over purchased items to get an idea of the approximate spend. Like jacket 9xxx, FJ 9xxx, plus multiple smaller items that are 2-3xxx, that’s roughly 2:1. In my experience, at least during the first two years, my SA very skillfully avoided any QB discussions until I was at least close to 2:1 from the last accepted offer.

However, I do think once a bag request reaches the SM for approval, they might look over the purchase history much closer. At least this would be the case for newer clients. I observed a significant difference in the patterns of bag offers once I shopped over 3 years.

I believe, at least the SM, can apply various filters to the data to see it by department, time etc. No need to use a calculator. But I think they are also just concerned about a much smaller period of time which is easy to see and assess. “What have you done for us lately.”

I think nowadays it depends on the country in Europe and how large the store is. At least 2-3 I know are expecting some prespend these days. Of course many people still get bags with low or no prespend, but it is becoming more difficult. I heard Germany, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Holland are still excellent for locals.

Can you please let me know if my prespend understanding is correct?

I’m currently working on getting a quota bag, so I want to build up my home store profile with my SA whilst getting items I love.

There’s a piece of fine jewelry online I want, but my store does not have my size and no nearby stores have my size (I called customer service to check). So, if I ask my SA to order this item for me, does that mean they get commission BUT it does not go towards my prespend given the SM would prefer the item to come from their store inventory? I’m assuming it wouldn’t be a transfer given the size is difficult to find, so they’d likely have to get it for me via online.
